The suspension is used mainly to remove worms in kids, although it can be applied and adults. The drug is produced in a dark glass bottle with a measured spoon. The suspension acts mainly in the intestine, so unlike tablets is being transferred much easier, as it has a softer action.

Suspension is taken orally during or after meals. Immediately before use, the bottle with the preparation is shaking to obtain a homogeneous suspension.

• aged 6 months to 2 years: 125 mg (2.5 ml, or ½ dimensional cup);
• aged 2 to 6 years: 250 mg (5 ml, or 1 measuring cup);
• aged 6 to 12 years: 500 mg (10 ml, or 2 dimensional cups);
• aged 12 years and adults with body weight less than 75 kg: 750 mg (15 ml, or 3 dimensional cups);
• adults with a body weight of more than 75 kg: 1000 mg (20 ml, 4 dimensional cups).

In order to prevent re-infection, the suspension is carried out after 21 days after the first reception.

In case of massive invasions, Necator American is recommended a dose of 20 mg / kg body weight for 2 days.

Side effects

The instruction warns the possibility of developing the following side effects when appointing PIRANTEL:

• nausea, vomiting;
• lack of appetite;
• diarrhea;
• pains and spasms of the stomach;
• headache;
• dizziness;
• drowsiness or insomnia;
• weakness;
• rash;
• increased temperature;
• hearing impairment;

Contraindications

Contraindicately assign Pyrantel in the following cases:

Overdose
