Homemade scalp scrub recipes. How to Boost Hair Growth and Increase Its Fullness with Homemade Salt Scrubs? How to make a scalp scrub

Even now, in the age of beauty progress, you might think, "Why do I need it?" Indeed, for many, the very fact of the existence of such a remedy as a scalp scrub causes not only distrust, but bewilderment. And really, what was this thing invented for?

To answer this question, let's remember for what purpose we use body scrub and face peeling. Skin cells tend to die off and then accumulate on the surface. And if the skin is not helped to get rid of them, problems in the form of dullness and clogged pores are inevitable.

The same thing happens to the scalp: keratinized cells hardly leave the epidermis, provoking greasiness, making it difficult for the skin to breathe, and inhibiting the growth of healthy hair. There is only one way out - exfoliation.

Now about the scrubs. In cosmetology, this is the name for a product with an exfoliating (abrasive) effect, which is intended for:

  • deep cleansing;
  • accelerating the exfoliation of dead particles;
  • stimulating natural renewal.

A scalp scrub does it all well.

Indications for use

As a rule, scalp peeling is indicated primarily for:

  • the tendency of the scalp to be oily;
  • dandruff;
  • daily use of styling products;
  • the use of additional scalp care products, such as serum to stimulate hair growth.

If everything is more or less clear with oily skin and dandruff, then what is the connection between scrub and styling?

“Many styling products, especially varnishes, mousses, thermal protection sprays, contain alcohol,” explains Elena Eliseeva, medical expert at Vichy. - And it provokes dehydration and irritation of the scalp.

In addition, silicone-based retention components can clog pores and clog orifices. hair follicles which increases the risk of dandruff. "

However, scrub is often advised even for those who, at first glance, have normal and completely healthy hair... The main thing is that the peeling is factory-made, and not prepared according to a folk recipe.

Finished products are checked for compatibility of chemical components, allergenicity, and the ability to use it on the scalp.

Feature of the composition of scrubs for the scalp

The product is based on abrasive microparticles:

  • natural (from apricot seeds, grapes, walnuts);
  • synthetic.

In addition to exfoliating ingredients in products last generation usually includes:

  • extracts of medicinal plants;
  • oils;
  • salicylic acid;
  • glycerol.

Selection and application rules

Here, as in choosing cosmetics for facial care, the rule is one: consider the type of skin.

Bold

Look for the label on the label, use the scrub every second shampoo, combine it with a sebum-reducing shampoo.

Normal

Use the scrub no more than 2–4 times a month, otherwise you risk overdrying your skin.

Sensitive

Apply delicate formulas without abrasive particles once a month.

Keep in mind: If your hair is dyed, a scalp scrub can speed up the color washout.

  • Shea Moisture Green Coconut & Activated Charcoal Exfoliating Hair Mud;
  • DpHUE Apple Cider Vinegar Sea Salt Scalp Scrub;
  • Kiehl's Deep Micro-Exfoliating Scalp Treatment.

This cosmetics is universal and perfect for owners of all skin types.

Now I am doing a course of masks from oils, I want to nourish my hair by the summer, because my hair burned out badly last summer, and I still cut off the split ends.

Somehow I came across an article that with regular use oil masks, the scalp becomes clogged, and the effect is reduced, to avoid this, it is necessary to peel the scalp.

For a long time I was looking for what and how best to do, bought ordinary sea salt, tried it in the bathroom, during the shower, I did not understand how to rub it in, as a result, having shoveled the Internet again, I decided to make this scrub:

-Package of clay (I used blue), it cleans well, including silicones;

-A few tablespoons of ordinary table salt;

-Hair balm, also about 2 tablespoons, otherwise, the clay will begin to solidify;

-Hot water.

Stir well, until a homogeneous mass is obtained, I got thick sour cream, you don't need to thin it, otherwise the clay may flow.

I was worried that the salt would dissolve, and there would be no such effect, but in vain, nothing would dissolve.

It turned out a lot, because. overdid it with water. Enough for 2 times.

I combed my hair well, applied the composition to the parting, then massaged it well. Do not forget that there is salt in the composition, and do not rub hard, you can damage the skin. I forgot about it, fortunately, I didn't ruin anything, but my head was burning well.

After massaging the head, applied to the ends nourishing mask, put on a bag and a hat, for 10 minutes, that's enough.

You can apply the clay to the full length, but it is better to do it without salt, because it dries out the hair very much.

Everything is washed off easily, I just washed my hair with shampoo once. You can apply a deep cleansing shampoo for maximum effect.

The effect is visible immediately and does not take much time.

Outcome: 2 days have passed, the hair looks like I washed it a couple of hours ago! The hair is not coarse, not overdried, although I expected only such an effect from clay! They are soft, fluffy (for some it is a minus, but not for me). Immediately, an undershirt of new hair became visible, apparently because of the oils it "stuck".

In general, I am satisfied with the procedure, I did not expect such an effect, I will do it once a month, more often I do not see the point, because I do not use any styling products.

Of the minuses: it is worth doing before a manicure)) The clay is absorbed into the nails, cuticles, it is still a vidocq, just washing your hands well is not enough.

There are many more hair follicles and sebaceous glands on the scalp than on the face. That is why dead skin cells and sebum quickly accumulate on the head. The scrub, thanks to its texture, removes all unnecessary and deeply cleanses the scalp. Another advantage of using a scrub is that any skin care products, including balms and masks, work better on exfoliated skin, as the ingredients penetrate much deeper.
