Man and his attitude to pets. The problem of cruelty to animals - ready-made arguments and theses How people relate to animals

13.01.2021 Information

The problem of the attitude of people to animals is very important these days. It is about her that the writer Valeeva makes us think about in her story. Over how this attitude should be. The writer shows cruelty and indifference. The picture she described is depressing and terrifying. And a great sympathy rises in my soul, for the two main characters of the work. A pair of wolves living at the zoo.

Every day a test for the animals. Their life in captivity is hard and unbearable. They were poorly fed, and the animals were greatly emaciated. Once the wolf was severely beaten with iron bars only because, striving for freedom, he tried to escape. This incident resulted in a lame animal. The zoo workers were dismissive and indifferent to the wolf and she-wolf. For ten years of life in captivity, the predators have not received names. Beautiful and strong animals were slowly dying among cruel people. And if cubs appeared, they were almost always immediately taken away from their mother, only once they allowed the she-wolves to feed them. According to the writer, such an attitude towards animals is unacceptable, and cruelty and indifference must be fought.

I agree with Valeeva's point of view. Indeed, our smaller brothers need to be treated with love and care. It is very important to always show humanity and kindness in relation to animals. Their abuse is a huge evil that must be combated. You need to learn to protect and understand nature. And it's worth starting with the animals, which are an important part of it.

V fiction there are many works that talk about the relationship between man and animal. This is a very old and important question. It was thought over for many times. This problem has been of interest to many people for a very long time.

The problem of the relationship between man and animal is raised in L. Andreev's story "Kusak". The work tells about a homeless dog, embittered at the world and people. One day she settles in one of the dachas where people come in the summer. They tamed the dog, gave it a nickname, made it fall in love and become attached to itself. The animal became kind and joyful. But then the people left and left Kusaka alone. They acted very cruelly towards the unfortunate dog.

In the story of G.N. Troepolsky, the question of the relationship between man and animals is of great importance. The hero of the story of the hunter Ivan Ivanovich has a dog called Bim. The man was very attached to his pet. Ivan Ivanovich took him hunting, taught him. But one day he fell ill and left for an operation. Bim was left alone. The dog went in search of the owner and got lost among the city and people. Returning from the hospital, Ivan Ivanovich was looking for a dog and hoped for the best to the last. The death of a friend was a tragedy for the hunter.

So, the attitude towards animals should be careful and caring. It is important to treat our smaller brothers with respect and love. After all, someone who treats an animal badly will not be able to treat someone else well.

More and more buyers prefer farm products, citing the fact that they are produced with more love and humanity.

Today, the humane treatment of animals is of great public interest throughout the world. Livestock industry Agriculture, as the most extensive system that uses animals for human needs, of course, these discussions cannot be ignored. Legislation and some livestock regulations in Europe are already undergoing reforms to make keeping farm animals more humane. For Russia, all this is just a matter of time. Maybe we should start thinking about ethics today?

Caring farmers will get rich faster

The practice of animal husbandry is based not only on scientific achievements, but also on many years personal experience... Farmers care about the health of each animal, the safety of the herd and the increase of its productivity, because for them it is much more than just a business.

If the end consumers of livestock products are asked what they would like to know about the technology of production, they most likely will not be able to answer anything concrete. 68% of the respondents would like to know what farmers are doing to make sure that their animals are provided with everything they need and feel good.

Researchers at the University of California asked in-store shoppers to name five staple and other animal products. And “humanity for animals” was the most common answer.

In another study, Ohio University researchers found that about 59% of city dwellers surveyed would pay more for meat if they saw that the label was marked with an o during growing. At the same time, 43% of them were willing to pay 10% more, and about 12% agreed to pay a quarter more than the current price just for the careful handling of animals.

About 93% of women in the United States buy groceries with some emotion. This is why they prefer farmed products - women feel a strong emotional return because they believe that the farmers take good care of their animals and take care of them.

Studies have shown that female buyers choose meat based on three criteria:

1) They try to purchase goods from farmers, because they are sure that they care about animals and the quality of products;

2) They check the documents confirming the quality (papers issued by the Ministry of Agriculture and the Department of Sanitary Inspection) and giving confidence that the meat is completely safe;

3) Finally, they look at the price

Closer to the animals, closer to the customer

Why do buyers feel that farmers are caring for their animals more carefully?

Jane Swanson of Michigan State University noted in her talk at a conference in Montana that buyers tend to trust those who most resemble themselves. Trust is distributed as follows: animal advocates, farmers or producers, federal governing bodies, grocery stores, restaurants, and finally food and processing companies.

It is animal rights activists and farmers who are the most trusted by buyers when it comes to humane treatment of animals.

What exactly determines the quality of products?

The well-being of the animal should include the following points:

No hunger, thirst, discomfort, pain, injury, or disease, and no fear or stress. In addition, animals should be able to behave as comfortably as possible. All of these conditions must be met both on the farm and during. Of course, no one says that slaughter can be pleasant for animals, but people can make this procedure as fast and painless as possible.

European meat producers pride themselves on being able to provide animals with proper care and humane treatment on farms and on holdings.

Provide sufficient food and water, and take care of the health and good mood of the animals;

Provide protection from disease to prevent epidemics in the herd, take care of veterinary care for sick animals, if necessary;

Provide humane and most comfortable conditions for transporting or fixing animals during technological procedures;

Use humane methods for slaughtering sick or injured animals;

Use personnel trained to properly handle animals and carry out all technological operations with care;

Conduct periodic surveys of the herd to identify needs for something;

Provide transportation conditions that exclude overcrowding of cars with animals, as well as ensure the most comfortable loading and unloading;

Use the latest innovations and achievements in production that improve the conditions for keeping animals

Ethical assessment of meat quality

The Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) is part of a humane education approach that allows you to assess and compare animal performance and performance without the hassle and time consuming.

The assessment of the level of ethics in caring for animals is carried out according to three main criteria: the condition of the animals themselves, physical and physiological characteristics premises and their compliance with the necessary conditions, as well as the state of equipment and technology used in caring for animals.

The assessment can be carried out both separately and as part of a general examination of animals. Regardless of whether the assessment is performed by a veterinarian or a farm employee, it is important that the assessment is regular enough to allow for the necessary comparative analysis. The data obtained should provide information on which care parameters should be changed in order to improve the quality of life of the animals.

The essence of the methodology is the multiple assessment of items, divided into three large levels, each of which is very easy to take into account in one step. Of course, the rating scale is still being improved and now it is far from being finalized. Nevertheless, with its help it is already possible to highlight the most significant points and create a certain standard of behavior in relation to animals, which will be considered quite humane.

The scale is designed in such a way that if the farmer has successfully mastered the points corresponding to the first level, he can move on, improving the technology of animal care to reach the next level.

Rabies is no less than a deadly virus that is transmitted to an animal or person from an infected animal. The consequences that the disease causes become irreversible and cause death. The problem of rescuing and preventing the shooting of sick animals becomes extremely acute, because humanity towards four-legged friends is the duty of "older brothers". Having monitored the situation in Russia and in the world, it became clear that there are two completely opposite points of view in relation to the existing problem. By the way, these points of view are so inversely proportional that there is a feeling of hopelessness and victory of the one who has a gun.
So, from a humane point of view, advocated by animal defenders who do not imply the killing of dogs, they suggest catching them, placing them in shelters, and treating them. But, in any case, it must be remembered that rabies is not curable if it is not on early stage... It cannot be identified by symptoms that simply do not exist. It can be transmitted to a person after contact with a pet, which, in turn, became infected from a sick person. In this case, there is a way out - to vaccinate stray animals until they get sick, sterilize, in general, take care of the dogs with your own hands.
Another view is that the dog-shooting dilemma has no way out. The axiom taken as a basis is human safety and its maintenance. “You cannot call anything that contradicts the safety of people humanity,” says the center for legal animal protection.
So, for example, in the Chelyabinsk region they openly declare that there is a shooting of dogs. About the mode emergency, which is introduced in the region, the residents are informed. However, the day before, a user who contacted TagilCity.ru learned that they were shooting on Peschaniy mad dogs... Now tell me, who knew about this? The point is not even what exactly happens, but how it happens. Cruel.
There are also reasonable arguments backed up by practice:
“With regard to such activities as oral vaccination of stray animals, the effectiveness of which we have been broadcasting from television screens for several years, this was done with one purpose - to justify the scam of sterilizing stray animals. the fact that no vaccine gives full protection against rabies to either humans or animals, and the instructions for the drug are written about this " , - the website of the center for legal animal protection reports.
According to statistics from the World Health Organization in 2011, 99% of people who died of rabies were infected precisely from stray dogs. After all, the leaders in rabies are those Asian and African countries where stray dogs live everywhere, and pets are very rare. In Western Europe, where there are no stray animals, rabies is forgotten.
So, civilized countries need to strive for a civilized attitude towards animals. Moreover, it is initially good to treat them, and not complain that they have "proliferated." Even in Nizhniy Tagil, there are animal shelters, however, apparently, their strength is not enough to help everyone. That is why fund managers turn to Tagil residents. You cannot stay on the sidelines and in a wild, cruel way to deal with animals that may not even be sick. It is important to stand at the origins of caring for a four-legged friend and then they will answer you in kind.
And as for humanity towards animals, then, in the opinion of animal protection, highest degree cruelty to pets, this is throwing them out into the street, where they inevitably await suffering, including a terrible death from rabies.

The Civil Code pays attention to the nature of the treatment of animals, the education of a humane attitude towards them, which can be considered as ecological education, as a contribution to environmental protection. A humane attitude to the animal world (not just to animals!) Is considered by the current faunistic legislation only as one of the goals, the implementation of which is intended to promote legislation, and as one of the measures aimed at protecting the animal world. However, an overly general formulation of these questions has not so far ensured effective protection of specific animals (it was easier to talk about the protection of the animal world than to devote the efforts of a specific individual).

In the Civil Code of the RSFSR of 1964, the regulation of the use of animals did not affect the nature of the treatment with them and concerned only the maximum number of livestock that could be in the personal property of a citizen (Article 112), and neglected livestock (Article 147). Decades were spent on the struggle of the public for the establishment of criminal liability for cruel treatment of animals, which resulted in their death and injury (Article 230 1 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR was introduced only in 1988).

Part 2 of Art. 137 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation provides that in the exercise of rights, cruelty to animals, contrary to the principles of humanity, is not allowed. Such a norm, new for Russian legislation, presupposes the subsequent definition in law of these concepts of humanity and its principles. To a certain extent, the norms of a humanitarian nature from international, from national law, concerning the rights of prisoners of war, refugees, and the procedure for their treatment can be conditionally used; it is clear, however, that their mechanical transfer from man to his "smaller brothers" is impossible and requires an independent approach to identifying the definition of "humanity" in relation to animals. Nevertheless, the Civil Code of the Russian Federation provides for a number of legal consequences for persons guilty of an inhumane attitude towards animals.

In Art. 230 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation provides for the necessary conditions for the temporary keeping of neglected animals, the obligations of persons who have detained neglected animals, as well as the persons to whom they are transferred for maintenance and use, "to properly maintain them, to be responsible for the death and damage of animals within the limits of their value."

The issue of acquiring and retaining ownership of neglected animals is resolved in a peculiar way: in the event of the appearance of the previous owner (six months after the statement about the detention of the animals and their transfer to the ownership of another person), the former owner has the right, if there are circumstances indicating that affection with the parties to these animals or about cruel or other improper treatment of them by the new owner, demand their return on conditions determined by agreement with the new owner, and if an agreement is not reached, by the court (clause 2 of article 231 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation).

Finally, proclaiming the inviolability of property and the need for the unimpeded exercise of civil rights, the Civil Code of the Russian Federation allows the redemption of pets in case of improper treatment of them in cases where the owner treats pets in clear contradiction with the rules established on the basis of the law and the norms of humane treatment of animals accepted in society. ... The corresponding demand for the seizure of animals is presented by a person to the court. The redemption price is determined by agreement of the parties, and in the event of a dispute - by the court (Article 241 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation).

Thus, society and legal practice will have to decide on the provisions established by the Civil Code of the Russian Federation aimed at ensuring not only rational, but also humane use of the animal world and its representatives, their inclusion in the environment, delimitation of ownership of them, balancing the requirements of civil circulation and morality. , public interest and private needs.

The problem of ruthless treatment of animals - ready-made arguments for composing the exam

Possible theses:

For their own benefit, people are able to make animals suffer

Sometimes people torture animals for pleasure.

People often kill animals unnecessarily.

People are unaware that animals have feelings and make them suffer

Sometimes people unknowingly hurt animals.

Chingiz Aitmanov novel "Plakha"

In Aitmanov's novel "Plakha", people ruthlessly exterminated saigas on the territory of the reserve in order to fulfill the plan of meat delivery. They were indifferent to the fact that, through their fault, predators would also suffer and would be left without food. And the man who tried to stop the poachers was killed by them.

In Aitmanov's novel "Plakha," Bazarbai, a selfish and immoral man, stole wolf cubs while they were on the hunt in order to sell them. The predators were very worried about the loss of offspring, but the man did not care, he did not even think about it. Personal benefit for Bazarbai turned out to be more important.

Sergei Yesenin poem "Song of the Dog"

The heartbreaking poem "Song of the Dog" shows the inhuman attitude towards animals. The man mercilessly killed his pet's newborn babies. The puppies were drowned in front of the dog, she could not protect her offspring. The owner did not seem to understand that animals also have maternal feelings.

B. L. Vasiliev novel "Don't Shoot White Swans"

Vasiliev's novel "Don't Shoot White Swans" describes many examples of ruthless treatment of animals. Drunk tourists on the territory of the reserve, without hesitation, burned the anthill that prevented them from resting, jammed the fish and shot the beautiful white birds. And Vovka, the son of a forester, turned out to be a real flayer and wanted to torture the puppy to death.

Yuri Yakovlev story "He killed my dog"

Yakovlev's story "He killed my dog" describes the story of a boy who turned out to be much more humane than adults. He found an abandoned animal and decided to become a friend to him. The little hero brought the dog into the house, but his father was against it and demanded to get rid of the new pet. The boy did not obey. When his son was not at home, the man called a gullible animal and shot the dog in the ear.

N. A. Nekrasov poem "Grandfather Mazai and the hares"

The problem of cruelty to animals is reflected in the work of Nekrasov "Grandfather Mazai and the hares." The old man, talking about how he saved long-eared animals from the flood, mentions the cruelty of other people. They were amused by the drowning hares, no one felt sorry for the poor animals. For more fun, the men beat the oblique with hooks, leaving them no chance of salvation.
