At the beginning of the 7th century, a humble man named Muhammad ibn Abdullah, who belonged to the pagan Quraysh tribe, lived in Mecca. Little Muhammad was educated by his grandfather, Abd al-Muttalib, but two years later he died and the child ended up in the family of his paternal uncle, Abu Talib.

From an early age, Muhammad was accustomed to labor and herding sheep that belonged to the inhabitants of Mecca. Growing up, he began to help his uncle in commercial affairs, but he was not attracted by worldly vanity. When he was twenty-five years old, he married a worthy woman named Khadija, and she became his faithful and loving wife. Khadija was a wealthy widow, and many wooed her, but she married Muhammad according to her own preference.

The older Muhammad got, the more often he thought about life. He developed a penchant for solitude, and as soon as he was given the opportunity, he loved to climb Mount Hira, in the vicinity of Mecca, and spend time in the cave he found there, thinking about himself and the world. As a rule, he remained in the cave for several days, but sometimes he had to break away from his thoughts in order to go downstairs for food and drink, after which he retired for several more days and nights in his favorite place.

From long loneliness and constant reflection, he was often visited by visions, to which he had already become accustomed, but one day he fancied that there was someone else in the cave besides him. Muhammad ibn Abdullah was not timid, but this time he shivered when a mysterious and invisible stranger said:

Seized with a strange trepidation, Muhammad ibn Abdullah prostrated on the floor of the cave. The vision disappeared, but for a long time he did not dare to move, and then, continuing to tremble as in a fever, with great difficulty he reached the house to Khadija, frightened by his appearance. He asked his wife to cover it with a thick blanket and sat under it until he recovered from his fright.



Continuation of the legend says that soon Muhammad again wished to climb Khira, but, ascending into the cave, again felt the presence of a mysterious stranger in it, who again addressed him with the same words:

- O Muhammad, you are the Messenger of Allah.

This time, what was said plunged Muhammad ibn Abdullah into such horror that he was ready to throw himself down from a high cliff, above which was a cave.

And only when an invisible stranger visited him for the third time, Muhammad learned that the archangel Jabrail, sent to him by Allah himself, appeared in his cave.

For the fourth time, the archangel appeared to Muhammad in a dream.

Covering it with a brocade veil, on which were some kind of writing, the archangel ordered Muhammad:

This is how the verses of the Koran were first revealed to Muhammad ibn Abdullah. It happened in 610, in the month of Ramadan, and he continued to receive revelations from above for more than twenty years, becoming the great prophet of Islam.

Only a few in Mecca believed Muhammad and recognized him as a real messenger of the Lord, carrying the message that there is no God but Allah, and that he, Muhammad, is His prophet. The verses of the Koran, revelations sent down to the Prophet Muhammad by Almighty Allah, were passed from mouth to mouth, and the followers of the prophet reverently listened to his speeches and tried to imitate him in everything, believing that his words and deeds were inspired by the one and almighty God who has no equal and who is the true ruler of the universe and arbiter of the destinies of all things.

The personality of the Prophet Muhammad cannot but arouse admiration. The fact that an illiterate orphan from the pagan Qurayshi tribe became the founder of one of the world's monotheistic religions, united under the banner of Islam many previously hostile tribes and created the first Muslim state, showing himself as an outstanding legislator and commander, cannot be called anything other than a miracle. In the second part, either a statement is presented, or a brief description of the act of the Messenger of Allah, which is perceived as completely reliable due to the reference to the authorities of famous personalities mentioned in the isnad. An obligatory element of the hadith style is the use of formulaic ritual phrases after the names of Allah, the prophet and the righteous from among his followers. There are many collections of hadiths, and a significant part of them pass from one to another, and some stories are repeated in the same collection, differing from each other in isnads or insignificant details of the narrative. The most reliable collections of hadiths are considered to be the codes compiled by the imams Muhammad ibn Ismail al-Jufi al-Bukhari (810-870), Muslim (d. 875), at-Tirmidhi (d. 892), Abu Daud (d. 888), an- Nasai (d. 915) and Ibn Maji (d. 887). However, not all known hadiths were included in them. For example, al-Bukhari processed about 600 thousand hadiths, of which only 7300 were recognized as reliable, and they were included in his collection, and Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal studied about a million hadith, including in his codex only twenty-fifth of the texts he studied.

And those who swear and revile each other, he called shaitans, accusing and rejecting each other.

The Prophet Muhammad himself never reviled anyone, and no one heard a single harsh word from him. If he wanted to show that he was condemning someone from his ummah, he would say:

- And what has gotten into him? Let his brow be dusty!


1.13. The Messenger of Allah, who by his own preference always lived in poverty, received guests for much longer periods than the three days recommended to him by the faithful. Once, several young people who belonged to the same tribe came to him, and he left them with him for twenty whole days, teaching them to pray to the One Lord.

Noticing that his guests were homesick, the Messenger of Allah began to ask them about their families, and then ordered everyone to return home and teach their relatives Islam, lead a virtuous, God-fearing lifestyle and pray at the appointed time. At the same time, he ordered the eldest of the young people to lead their prayers, and the other guest - to call everyone else to her. So, thanks to the prophet Muhammad, an imam and a muezzin appeared in that tribe.

- Because this rain is a gift from Almighty Allah and came directly from Him.

About true faith

2.1. The believer is ingenuous and generous.


2.2. The believer should neither slander nor curse, nor should he be rude or behave obscenely.


2.3. Faith is absorbed by one who has the following three qualities: justice, friendliness and generosity.


2.4. Fear of Allah, Lord of the Worlds, is the natural state of the believer. Therefore, the prophet Muhammad said:

- Wherever you are, fear Allah. Answer good for evil in order to dry out the root of evil. And stick to good moral principles!


2.5. The Prophet Muhammad said: - One and the same stone cannot hurt a believer twice.

2.9. The best of people is one who can be relied upon, who does good and does not do evil.


2.10. The Messenger of Allah constantly reminded that a person should not be judged by his outward appearance, but according to his spiritual aspirations and deeds.

“Allah Almighty does not look at your appearance and condition, but judges you by looking into your hearts and observing your actions,” he often reminded. “Indeed, the best of you is the best in your virtues.


2.11. The Prophet said: “Everyone who has been given a particle of decency has received his share of the good. Anyone who has been deprived of his share of decency is deprived of this share of good. Good disposition will be the most weighty thing on the believer's balance on the Day of Resurrection. Allah hates rude people with a filthy tongue.


2.12. Hell is forbidden to anyone who is attentive to others, forgiving, gentle and easy to communicate.


2.13. The reward for the one who calls for doing good is equal to the reward that the one who does it will receive.


2.14. Every part of a human being must purify itself by giving sadaqa (alms) from dawn to dusk; to judge two people fairly is sadaqa; a kind word spoken is sadaqa; every step towards the mosque is also sadaqa.


2.15. The Messenger of Allah taught Muslims selflessness in the way of Allah.

- Why do you do good only to those who do you good, and treat only those who treat you well? Why do you only talk to those who talk to you? Why do you honor only those who honor you? He asked. - Neither of you is given an advantage over the other. Truly, those who believe are those who believe in Allah and His Messenger, those who do good even to those who have wronged them, those who forgive even those who have deprived them and denied them, those who trust even those who betrayed them, those who show respect even to the one who humiliated them.


2.16. The Prophet Muhammad taught that every good deed done by a Muslim brings him closer to the entrance to Paradise, and every unworthy deed brings him closer to Hell. Life is difficult and constantly confronts people with a choice between good and evil. Desiring to guide Muslims on the path of righteousness, the Messenger of Allah said:

- Paradise is closer to each of you than the straps of his sandals, and Fire is just as close to each one.



2.17. Anyone who wanted to do a good deed, but did not do it, Allah will reckon it as a performed good deed. And if he had a good intention and carried it out, Allah will reckon this virtue tenfold. If a person intended to do evil, but refrained from doing it, Allah will reckon it to him as a good deed done by him.


2.18. When the Messenger of Allah, who was persecuted in Mecca, had to move to Medina, many followed him. However, not everyone moved to Medina for religious reasons. The Prophet knew about this and once said:

- Every human action is preceded by an intention, and everyone is rewarded according to his intentions. Anyone who wanted to resettle in the name of Allah and His prophet resettled in the name of Allah and His prophet, and whoever wanted to gain any benefit or resettled because he wanted to get married, resettled in order to gain profit or marry.

On the duty of a Muslim

2.21. When one of the followers turned to the Messenger of Allah with a request to teach him behavior worthy of a Muslim, the prophet gave him nine tips:

- Do not put anyone on a par with Allah, even if you are cut into pieces or roasted over a fire. Do not voluntarily give up the prescribed prayer. Anyone who rejects it will lose the protection of Allah. Do not drink wine - this is the key to all evil. Obey your parents. If they order you to give up all the property you have, give it back. Do not resist those in power, even if you think you are right. Do not flee from the army when it comes, even if you are killed because your comrades are running away. Maintain your wife according to your means. Don't swing your stick at her. Teach your household to tremble before Almighty Allah.


2.22. The Prophet considered it imperative to unconditionally obey the ruler, even if this ruler does not like it.

About attitude towards relatives

4.1. One evening, his neighbors gathered at the house of the Prophet Muhammad. The conversation turned to what actions of a Muslim are most pleasing to Allah. All agreed that nothing could be more pleasing to the Almighty than a prayer done at the right time.

However, Muhammad said that Allah also rejoices when people respectfully and lovingly treat their parents, because this is what one of the commandments revealed in the Quran says.

When your parents are happy, in their joy lies the joy of Allah, the prophet explained. “But remember that it is shameful and unworthy to provoke their wrath, for the wrath of Allah is hidden in the wrath of the parents.

Muhammad's interlocutors pondered deeply, remembering their parents and asking themselves if they always treated them as befits good Muslims. And then one of the villagers asked:

Tell us, O Messenger of Allah, to whom should we feel a greater sense of duty, to our father or mother?

Before the mother, - the prophet quickly answered, - for nothing can bring a Muslim closer to the Lord than fulfilling his duty to his mother.

What should we do to be worthy Muslims?

Do your duty to your mother.

Then the prophet was again asked what should be done in order not to incur the wrath of Allah, and Muhammad repeated the phrase he had just said twice more:

4.2. On a summer day, when there was not a cloud in the sky, and the sun incinerated the earth with the heat of its rays, the Prophet Muhammad and Abu Hurayra settled down to rest in the shade of a date palm and talked about the importance of good relations between relatives.

Anyone who wants his condition to increase and his life span to increase must maintain family ties, the prophet noted. - Allah is merciful to those who do not forget about their relatives.

4.3. One day a man came to the prophet and began to complain about his relatives, asking him to teach him how to make them repent and start treating him the way he deserves:

O Messenger of Allah! - said the visitor. - I have relatives with whom I want to support family relationship but they reject me. I treat them kindly, but they answer me with evil. However, even when they offend me, I am not angry with them and continue to treat them like a family.

After listening to his speech, the Prophet Muhammad said: - If everything is as you said, then you are like sprinkling them with hot coals, and Allah will support you in this as long as you continue to behave in the same way.

4.4. Anyone who goes to visit relatives only out of politeness does not fulfill his duty to maintain family ties... The one who finds the strength to ignore the sins of his relatives, forgive them and visit them for the sake of strengthening family ties, will fulfill his duty to his relatives to the end.

4.5. Once, when the prophet was already living in Medina, a young Muslim came to him and solemnly vowed that he would also perform the hijra, that is, he would move from Mecca to Medina. He kept his word and, upon his arrival in Medina, joyfully reported this to the Messenger of Allah. At the same time, the young man casually noticed that, seeing him off on his way, his parents burst into burning tears.

And then Muhammad said to him:

You must return to them and make them rejoice just as you made them shed tears.

4.6. Another time, a man came to the prophet who said that he dreamed of devoting his life to jihad, that is, to the struggle for faith. The Prophet listened attentively to him and asked:

Are your parents alive? - And, having received an affirmative answer, he said: - Then devote yourself to caring for them.

4.7. Demanding from Muslims an attentive and caring attitude towards parents, the prophet once exclaimed:

Shame and shame on the one who does not live up to the hopes of his parents or one of them when they are old! Such a person will definitely be punished and will burn in Fire forever.

Duty to parents

4.8. One man asked the prophet:

O Messenger of Allah, my parents are dead. Do I have a duty that I must fulfill towards them after their death?

Yes, - the prophet answered him. - You should pray for them, ask Allah to forgive them their sins, fulfill their obligations if they remain unfulfilled, and show generosity to their friends.

4.9. Speaking about the duty of children to their deceased parents, the Prophet Muhammad taught that the most important thing is to maintain relationships with those whom your father loved, for love is inherited.

4.10. One Muslim's mother, whom he loved very much, died. And he came to the Messenger of Allah to ask what sadaqah would be best for the good of her soul.

There is nothing better than water, - the Prophet Muhammad answered him, remembering the depressing heat of the desert. - Dig a well in memory of her and give water to those who suffer from thirst.

The man dug a well in the name of his mother and said: - The well was dug for my mother's sake, which means that the reward for it will reach her soul.

4.11. Shame on those who leave their parents in old age. He will not enter Paradise.

About marriage

4.12. Prophet Muhammad taught that the head of a Muslim family is a man, and a woman must follow all his orders, unless they are illegal. And if one of the wives denies her husband his legal rights without good reason, then Allah's displeasure will remain on her until she appeases her husband by submitting to his lawful desires.

4.13. The Prophet Muhammad said that in marriage, a husband and wife should equally be responsible for each other in the face of the Almighty.

A husband is like a shepherd to his wife, and Allah will certainly ask him for how he treated her and how she behaved. A wife is like a shepherdess to a husband, and Allah will certainly ask her for how she obeyed him and whether he was pleased with her.

4.14. Among the people who came to talk to the Prophet Muhammad, there was one young Muslim who had just got married and wanted to know his opinion on how to treat his wife so as not to offend Allah with his behavior. This is what the Messenger of Allah replied to him:

If you eat it yourself, then feed your wife, if you buy yourself clothes, then buy it for her! Do not hit her in the face, do not call her names, and if there is a quarrel between you, then do not leave her alone!

4.15. The Messenger of Allah advised husbands to treat their wives kindly and forgive them for those shortcomings that are inherent in women from birth, for example, talkativeness.

Remember, - he said, - that a woman was created from a rib, in which the greatest curvature differs top part therefore, one of the disadvantages of women is their tendency to chatter. However, if any of you make an attempt to straighten the rib, then it will not straighten, but will break or crack. Therefore, if you do not want to spoil the relationship with your wives, do not try to correct their inherent shortcomings, but always treat them with condescension and kindness.

4.16. Speaking about marriage, the Messenger of Allah noted four reasons why a woman is taken as a wife: wealth, origin, beauty and religious affiliation, but he advised men to choose as wives those who are committed to religion.

Otherwise, you will lose, ”he warned.

4.17. Prophet Muhammad was sitting with Muslims when a well-known rich man walked by them.

What do you say about this person? the prophet asked his interlocutors.

O Messenger of Allah, he deserves to marry his daughter or sister, if he wishes to marry them, he deserves that his intercession be accepted if he intercedes, and he deserves to be listened to if he want to speak up, they said.

The Prophet silently listened to this answer, and it was not clear whether he liked it or not.

Soon another citizen walked past them. He was poor, but famous for his religious zeal.

What do you say about this person? - the prophet again turned to his interlocutors.

O Messenger of Allah, he is not worthy to marry his daughter or sister, if he wishes to marry them, he is not worthy of his intercession being accepted, if he intercepts, and he is not worthy to be listened to if he wants to speak, they said.

He shook his head and said: - Know, about the faithful, that this poor man is better and more worthy of all the rich in the world!

4.18. The Prophet Muhammad forbade marriage if the woman was the niece of one of the wives that the man already had.

4.19. One woman said that she would like to become the wife of the Prophet Muhammad, but he was not going to marry her. Then one of his ummah said:

O Messenger of Allah, she is a good woman, and if you do not need her, let me marry her!

And the prophet asked him:

What do you have?

Nothing, ”he replied ruefully.

Then go and try to find at least an iron ring, - the Messenger of Allah told him.

And he left, but after a while he returned empty-handed.

I couldn't find anything, not even an iron ring, ”he admitted. And since he really liked the woman and wanted to get her as a wife, he said: - But I thought that I still have something, for example, this robe that is on me. And if I marry, then let my wife get half of it.

4.34. The Messenger of Allah required married women to do only such things for which they received the permission of their husband. And antimony in those days was both a medicinal and a cosmetic agent. Therefore, the prophet forbade her such treatment for a period of deep mourning.

After the death of her husband, the widow should not use antimony for at least four months and ten days.

About ungrateful wives

4.40. Once the Messenger of Allah passed by a group of women who were seated. He greeted them and they answered his greeting. Then one of them asked for some guidance. And then the prophet said:

Beware of showing ingratitude towards those who do you good.

Then one young and lively girl asked him:

O Messenger of Allah, please explain to us what it means to show ingratitude towards those who do us good!

Good, the prophet agreed. - Imagine that one of you cannot get married, staying in the parental home. Finally, Allah sends her a husband and children, and she gets angry and says that she had nothing good in her life. This is the ingratitude for the grace sent down by Almighty Allah.

The need to take care of women

4.41. The Messenger of Allah urged Muslim men to take care of women, for they are weak and it is difficult for them to stand up for themselves. Going out into the street, women are always in danger, because Shaitan tries to approach them.

4.42. Constantly emphasizing that the wife's duty is to protect and increase what her husband owns and to work around the house so that the husband is happy, the Messenger of Allah at the same time reminded men that helping his wife is one of the forms of their sadaka.

4.43. It is said that once the Prophet Muhammad said: - Take care that women do not cry, for Almighty Allah counts their tears. The woman was created from the rib of the man. Do not be like those who beat their wives like slaves and share a bed with them at the end of the day.

4.45. The Messenger of Allah taught that a true believer should not harbor hatred of his wife if she is also deeply religious.

If he does not like some aspects of her character, he should be content with her other virtues.

On chastity and delicacy in family life

4.46. The Prophet Muhammad forbade Muslim men to enter the rooms of women who are not their relatives. This prohibition extended to the relatives of the husband of a married woman.

4.49. Once a Bedouin ran to the Prophet Muhammad and cried out:

What color are they? the prophet asked.

4.50. It was only natural that women wanted to be in Paradise with their husbands. But they knew that there were beautiful houris in Paradise, and they feared that their husbands would spend time with them.

Knowing about these women's fears, the Messenger of Allah once said: “As soon as a wife causes trouble for her husband in this world, one of the paradise houris destined for him says:“ Do not dare torment him, may Allah's punishment fall upon you! Remember that he is just your guest who will soon leave you and join us! "

About maternal selflessness

4.51. Addressing women, the Messenger of Allah once touched upon the topic of motherhood and the rewards that women expect for the pain of childbirth and the labor of caring for a child.

Will not any of you rejoice when you bear from your husband, and he will be pleased with her? Indeed, for every day of pregnancy, a reward will be read to her, equal to that which is read to those who fast during the day and who rise to prayer at night. And it is impossible to imagine what kind of reward Allah will prepare for her for the birth pangs. And when she breastfeeds, the reward will go to her for every sip the baby takes. And if the baby cries, depriving her of sleep, then a reward will be written for her just like for the liberation of seventy slaves on the path of Allah.

4.53. Once, one of the prophet's wives, Aisha, saw a poorly dressed woman approach their house, holding two little daughters by the hands. They were all extremely emaciated and Aisha realized that they were very hungry. However, the Messenger of Allah lived extremely modestly, and sometimes his family did not have any food. 4.54. The Messenger of Allah has always emphasized the responsibility of parents for raising children.

Faith in the One God is inherent in every child from birth, - he said, - and only parents make him a Jew, Christian or pagan.

4.55. The Messenger of Allah insisted that the children should be at home when night fell.

When night falls, - he said, - keep your children at home, for at this time the shaitans come out. And after dinner yourself, be with the children, locking the door, and remember the name of Allah.

4.56. Allah's Apostle warned parents not to deceive their children.

None of you should promise anything to your child, and then not give him the promised, - he said.

4.57. One Bedouin came to the Messenger of Allah and saw that he had kissed his daughter. The Bedouin was very surprised and asked:

Are you kissing your children? We never kiss our own!

How can I put mercy in your hearts if they are deprived of it by Almighty Allah?

4.58. Once the Messenger of Allah was asked at what age children should be taught to pray.

Tell your children to pray when they turn seven, and when they turn ten, discipline them if they shy away from it.

4.59. Once, one of the Muslims, in between times, told the Messenger of Allah about what he had given to the son of his slave. Allah's Apostle asked this man if he had other sons. Having received an affirmative answer, the prophet asked him:

Did you make the same gift to them?

Then take it back, the prophet ordered.

O Messenger of Allah, exclaimed the Muslim. - How can I take it back if you yourself taught us that the one who takes back his gift is like a dog that first vomits and then returns to his vomit? Isn't it forbidden for Muslims to give a gift and then take it back?

About guardians

4.60. Once the Messenger of Allah was asked who will enter first to Paradise and he said:

About daughters

4.64. At the time of the Prophet Muhammad, among the tribes inhabiting the Arabian Peninsula, there was a barbaric custom, according to which fathers buried alive their newborn daughters or even girls who had reached the age of five. 4.67. One Muslim was sitting next to the Messenger of Allah when his son, a nice little boy, ran up to him. The father sat the child on his lap and kissed him at the same time. Following the boy, his little sister approached the adults shyly, whom her father sat in front of him and did not kiss.

Watching this scene, the prophet frowned and said:

Truly, you are acting unjustly!

4.68. The Messenger of Allah said that one of the greatest virtues of a father towards his daughter is manifested when she is returned to him, and he takes over her maintenance if she has no other means of subsistence.

4.69. The Prophet Muhammad taught that a father should not marry his daughter forcibly, and if it did happen, then the marriage was subject to dissolution.

One Muslim woman named Hansa told the prophet that her father forced her to marry. And then the prophet called her relatives to him and dissolved her marriage.

On inheritance and heirs

4.70. Once a man came to the Prophet Muhammad and said that he wanted to make a will, but did not know how to properly distribute the inheritance between three relatives: a daughter, a daughter of a son and a sister.

Miracle about water

10.1. Once, when the time for prayer came, the Muslims who lived near the mosque dispersed to their homes to bathe and then appear for prayer.

And the Prophet Muhammad was brought a small bowl of water, which was so little that you could dip only your fingers into it.

Those present at the same time saw how the water in the bowl gushed with a key and filled it to the brim, as soon as the prophet dipped his fingers into it. And the water obtained in such an amazing way was enough for not only the Messenger of Allah to wash, but also seven or eight dozen Muslims, to whom he handed the bowl after he himself prepared for prayer.

The miracle of punishing the arrogant

10.2. One of the Muslims in the presence of the Messenger of Allah dared to take food with his left hand. The Prophet made a stern remark to him, ordering him to eat with his right, for both of this man's hands were healthy.

- But I can not! - the obstinate answered him, and then the prophet said to him: - Well, you can't! And this man fell victim to his own arrogance, because he was taken away right hand and he could never again take food with her.

Miracle about rain

10.3. For a whole year, there was no rain on the Arabian Peninsula, and the earth had long since dried up and covered with cracks. The inhabitants of Medina also suffered from the drought.

Before Friday prayer in the mosque, one of the Muslims from Madina came up to the Messenger of Allah and said:

- O Messenger of Allah, there is no rain, the earth has dried up, the cattle are dying.

Then the prophet raised his hands to the sky, on which there was not a single cloud, and He stretched his hands to the sky so that those who stood next to him could see the whiteness of his armpits, and asked Allah to send rain.

No sooner had the common prayer ended than the rain poured down. He was so strong that a teenager who lived near the mosque was afraid to return home.

This downpour continued throughout Friday and did not stop throughout the next week.

Gathering for common prayer the following Friday, people began to complain:

- O Messenger of Allah, the rain washed away the walls of our houses so that they are crumbling, the roads are flooded or limp so that they become impassable.

The Prophet smiled and said: - How quickly the sons of Adam become discontent! -

Then he raised his hands to the sky and said: - O Allah, rain came down around us, but not on us.

And the rain in Medina immediately stopped.

The miracle of the date harvest

10.4. In Medina, there was a Muslim named Jabir, who had a small plantation of date palms. He kept part of the harvest from them for food, and sold the rest, but he did not have enough money for a whole year, so he used to borrow money on the security of the future harvest from a Jew from Medina.

And then a drought came, and that year Jabir was unable to harvest the dates. But his lender agreed to defer payment of the debt until the next harvest. However, the next year also turned out to be a poor harvest, and although the Jew himself came to the Jabir plantation, he was unable to collect even a handful of dates. And when Jabir asked him to postpone his debt for another year, he refused.

Jabir had no money, so he went to the Prophet Muhammad for advice.

After hearing the story of Jabir, Muhammad invited the Muslims who were sitting with him to all go to the lender and persuade him to give Jabir one more reprieve. And they all went to the Jew. But no matter how the prophet persuaded him, he did not want to make a concession.

Then the prophet went to look at the plantation of Jabir and walked a little under the palm trees. And Jabir, meanwhile, managed to pick several dates to treat the Messenger of Allah. He happily ate the treat and said:

- I’m tired of something, O Jabir. Give me a bed in your tent, I need to get some sleep.

And when the prophet woke up, Jabir again offered him several berries.

Leaving the tent with the prophet, Jabir could not believe his eyes: all his palms were hung with bunches of ripe dates!

- O Jabir, - the Messenger of Allah said to him at parting, - quickly gather the harvest and repay your debt!

The Prophet smiled and said: - I testify that I am the Messenger of Allah!

The Miracle of the Answers of the Prophet Muhammad

10.5. When the news of the arrival of the prophet Muhammad spread throughout Medina, a man came to him, who decided to check whether he really was a prophet.

First, he asked the prophet what signs would herald the coming of the Day of Judgment.

Then he asked what would be the first food for those who would enter Paradise.

And he also asked why a son is like his father or maternal uncle.

After listening to the questions of the distrustful citizen, the Messenger of Allah said:

- I will answer all your questions, for the archangel Jabrail recently told me about all this. The harbinger of Doomsday will be fire, which will drive people from east to west. Those who enter Paradise will taste the fish liver. As for the third question, if at conception the man is satisfied before the woman, the child will be like him, and if the woman is ahead of the man, the child will be like her and her brother.

The distrustful citizen was shocked by Muhammad's answers and exclaimed:

- I testify that you are the Messenger of Allah!

So he became a Muslim.

Miracle of Jabrail

10.6. Once, when the Muslims were sitting with the Prophet Muhammad, a stranger approached him. He was a prominent man in dazzling white robes that set off his jet-black hair. Apparently he had come from afar, but acted as if the long journey had not tired him in the least.

Approaching the Messenger of Allah, the stranger sat down right in front of him so that their knees touched, put his palms on his hips and asked him to tell him about what Islam is.

- Islam is the recognition that there is no god but Allah, and that Muhammad is His prophet, these are prayers, the payment of zakat, that is, the tax on the poor, this is fasting in the month of Ramadan, this is a pilgrimage to holy places in Mecca.

“In the name of Allah, you said correctly,” said the stranger in white, and everyone was very surprised that he allowed himself such a remark. “Now,” he asked, “explain to me what iman is.

- Iman is faith in Almighty Allah, His angels, His books, His messengers and on the Day of Judgment, in the divine destiny, both in his good and in his evil.

“In the name of Allah, you said correctly,” the stranger said again. - Now tell me what iskhan is.

“Ishan is worshiping Allah as if you are standing before Him and see Him as He sees you,” the prophet replied.

“In the name of Allah, you said again correctly,” the stranger approved of his words. - Now tell me about the Hour.

Prophet Muhammad looked closely at his interlocutor and said:

- Indeed, the one who is asked knows no more than the one who is asking.

Then the stranger asked to talk about what events would precede him.

- A mistress will be born to a slave, and naked and barefooted shepherds will compete in the construction of tall buildings.

The stranger, obviously pleased with the next answer, got up, said goodbye and left.

The people present during this conversation began to question the prophet with whom he spoke, and trembled when they heard the answer:

- It was Jabrail, who came to teach us our religion.

Miracle of Miraj

10.7. One night, when the Prophet Muhammad, exhausted by a prayer vigil, was fast asleep near the sacred Kaaba, he was awakened by Jabrail who appeared to him. And how could he not wake up if Dzhabrail cut open his chest and stomach from throat to groin and removed the heart and entrails of the Prophet Muhammad from the wound formed. Dzhabrail carefully put them in a golden vessel filled with water from the sacred source Zamzam, located in the vicinity of the Kaaba, and, after washing, carefully returned everything back to the body of the prophet. And then the terrible wound on his body healed, so much so that there was not even a small scar left of it.

After that, the clatter of hooves was heard, and a small winged horse with the head of a woman ran up to Dzhabrail. It was a wonderful animal, capable of covering unthinkable distances in one leap, and his name was Burak (Arabic for "lightning fast"). Jabrail said that this wonderful horse had previously served other prophets, and now will serve the prophet Muhammad.

Dzhabrail ordered him to saddle Burak, and they took off into the sky and in an instant were transported to Quds (Jerusalem) and prayed in the Farthest Mosque.

After the prayer, he was asked to drink from three jugs of his choice. One contained milk, the second contained water, and the third contained wine. Prophet Muhammad chose a jug of milk, which meant that his ummah would go the right way, and wine has since become forbidden for Muslims.

Then a staircase descended from heaven, and, leaving the wonderful Burak on Mount Moriah, the prophet Muhammad with Jabrail ascended it to heaven. In the first heaven, he saw the forefather Adam, who determined the fate of the souls of the dead. From there, Hell was shown to him, so that he saw with his own eyes the torment of sinners. Ascending to the second heaven, the prophet Muhammad saw the prophet Isa, on the third - the prophet Yusuf, on the fourth - the prophet Idris, on the fifth - the prophet Harun. In the sixth heaven was the prophet Musa, and in the seventh heaven was the prophet Ibrahim.

Then he visited Paradise and saw with his own eyes the bliss of the righteous. Finally, he appeared before the heavenly throne of Almighty Allah, and the Lord of the Worlds spoke to him and ordered the Muslims to pray fifty times a day.

Then the descent to the ground began. When the prophet Muhammad descended to the sixth heaven, to the prophet Musa, he persuaded him to return to the throne of Allah and ask him to reduce the number of prayers. This was repeated several times, and in the end Allah, by His grace, reduced the number of daily prayers obligatory for Muslims to five.

Descending back to Mount Moriah, the prophet Muhammad saddled Burak again, and he returned him to Mecca in one jump.

When the next day the Prophet Muhammad told about his night journey, people did not believe him, because the distance from Mecca to Quds was too far, and not every caravan covered it in a month. It was hard to imagine that a person was transported back and forth in just one night, and even managed to visit heaven.

For people to believe him, the Prophet Muhammad began to describe the Quds. And then the listeners were very surprised, because he had never been to this distant city, and those who have been there unanimously confirmed the accuracy of his descriptions. He also spoke of a large caravan heading towards Mecca. He noticed this caravan as he raced across the sky in Burak. And when soon this caravan arrived in Mecca, people finally unconditionally believed in the truthfulness of the prophet's story.

It was a great miracle that Allah revealed the Holy Quran to the Prophet Muhammad, but no less a miracle and a sign of the greatest benevolence was the fact that Allah allowed his prophet to appear before Him during his lifetime.

Miracle about the duel

10.8. Once the Prophet Muhammad fell asleep under a palm tree and, suddenly waking up, saw in front of him his enemy - a Bedouin-many-god, who raised a sword over him.

- Well, Muhammad, who will save you from death now? - he cried.

“Allah Almighty, Most Merciful, Most Merciful,” Muhammad answered him.

In surprise, the attacker dropped his sword.

Mohammed with a lightning movement took up his weapon and cried out:

- Well, who will save you from death now?

“Nobody,” answered the polytheist.

The miracle of the salvation of the prophet Muhammad

10.9. When the Prophet Muhammad began preaching Islam in Mecca, he was severely persecuted and forced to move to Medina. However, leaving Mecca was not easy, because it was necessary to slip out of the city unnoticed, and the Messenger of Allah was sought everywhere.

The cousin and son-in-law of the Prophet Ali Ibn Abi Talib came up with a way out: he hid the Messenger of Allah in a high basket, loaded it on himself and, bending under the weight of a load, slowly walked to the city gates.

Seeing Ali, the guards guarding the gate told him to stop and asked:

- What's in your basket?

To which the righteous Ali, who did not know how to lie, replied:

- Prophet Muhammad!

The guards took his words as a great joke and began to laugh, pat their thighs, and, of course, let Ali through. He safely passed the city gates and thereby saved the Messenger of Allah.

The miracle of the camel

10.10. The camel of one of the Muslims, who participated with the Messenger of Allah in the military campaign, was exhausted and began to lag behind the rest. Noticing this, the prophet who was riding at the head of the detachment turned around, drove up to the lagging rider and asked what had happened to him.

Learning that the camel was tired, the Prophet Muhammad dismounted and lightly touched it with his staff. And suddenly the camel jerked off and ran so fast that for the rest of the way the owner had to restrain him all the time so as not to be ahead of the Messenger of Allah.

The miracle of the prophecy of the monk Bahira

10.11. The father of the Prophet Muhammad died before his birth, and his mother, Amina, being pregnant, was very worried about how she would raise a child without the support of her husband. But shortly before giving birth, amazing things began to happen to her. One night she had a wonderful dream. She saw an unusually beautiful tree, dotted with stars instead of fruits. One of them fell off a branch and fell into her lap. When the young woman went out into the garden, birds began to circling respectfully over her head. As soon as Amina approached the well, the water itself rushed towards her to fill her jug. But the most amazing thing was that her body gave off a bright light. And one day the expectant mother heard a voice that said to her:

“You carry in your womb the Lord of this people, and when he is born, say:“ I hand him over to the care of the Greatest, so that the malice of any envious person does not touch him; and then call him Muhammad, that is, "worthy of praise."

And when the child was born, Amina named him Muhammad.

10.12. Muhammad was a teenager when his uncle Abu Talib, who led caravans to Syria, took the boy on a long journey. The caravan reached the city of Bosra, on the southern Syrian plain, and made a stop there. At that time, there were many Christians in Bosra, and one local monk, whose name was Bahira, told them that he had read in a certain book a prediction about the imminent coming of a new prophet, whose appearance would be accompanied by certain signs. Bahira, who did not show any interest in worldly affairs, usually did not pay the slightest attention to the Arab merchants from Mecca, but this time, passing by their camp, he noticed that one of the arrivals, young Muhammad, was covered by the shadow of a cloud, while all the rest were roasted in the bright sun. Bakhira looked at the boy, and his surprise increased even more when he saw that as soon as Muhammad entered under the canopy of a spreading tree, a shadow followed him, although the sun was still shining everywhere.

Then Bahira did an unthinkable act: he approached the pagan Arabs and invited them to share his meal with him. But when those invited came to him and began to eat, Bakhira did not see among them that youth who would be marked with a special sign.
