For these purposes, there is a traditional proven method: checking on the Borov. Borov is a part of the chimney that goes immediately after the first segment of the pipe leaving the furnace. Typically, borov has the same diameter and slope of about 10 °.

The essence of the method is simple: fuel is laid, the fire is divorced, and new portions of fuel are gradually added. When Borov starts to acquire a cherry shade - it means the minimum fuel volume is already laid. Next, it is necessary to continue to put the fuel until only one fifth of the borov will remain dark, and four fifths will have a cherry tint - this is the maximum amount of fuel that can be downloaded to the stove.
