How to treat cholecystitis at home?

Many mistakenly believe that nausea, bitterness in the mouth and heaviness in the right side always indicate liver disease. But in fact, these symptoms are also manifested in violation of the gallbladder. One of these organ disorders is cholecystitis, which is its inflammation, which can be caused by an infection or bile stasis.

Those who have these symptoms should be treated for cholecystitis. One of the methods - herbs - is especially relevant due to its accessibility and ease. However, it does not exclude the need to consult a doctor. Only a specialist will be able to choose the most effective set of herbs for a particular patient.

With cholecystitis, stagnation of bile in the organ is observed, which decoctions from choleretic plants help to overcome. To relieve spasm of the biliary tract, herbs that have an antispasmodic effect are used.

The development of inflammatory processes is stopped by agents that have an antimicrobial, antiprotozoal and antibacterial effect, because the infection can spread further.

And hepatoprotective agents will make the liver function normally.

Useful plants

To optimize the process of bile formation and its excretion, you can take decoctions from the following plants:

  • ordinary tansy;
  • birch leaves;
  • peppermint;
  • columns of corn;
  • barberry;
  • sandy immortelle.

They are divided into two groups: choleretics and cholekinetics. The former increase the outflow of bile due to an increase in the level of water content in it (mint and birch leaves). And the latter increase the tone of the gallbladder and the ways in which the fluid leaves the body (tansy, corn). Plants such as barberry, sand immortelle and Chinese airflower have a mixed effect, so you need to be especially careful when using them.

Cholecystitis is often manifested by spasmodic attacks, which can be relieved by effective antispasmodics: cumin, chamomile, anise, fragrant dill, lemon balm, goose cinquefoil, May lily of the valley, calamus marsh, rhomboid cross.

The seeds of this plant can be added to food, but it is important to ensure that the amount does not exceed 4 tablespoons per day. Patients with increased thrombus formation and with a sick stomach should not prepare decoctions from this herb, but for everyone else they will be an effective remedy.

Chicory favorably affects the functionality of the hepatobiliary system as a whole. You can use roots, seeds and flowers, many even drink freshly squeezed juice. It is worth replacing regular coffee with chicory in the morning - these products practically do not differ in taste.

Milk thistle restores liver cells (hepatocytes) and has a powerful anti-inflammatory effect, so it can cure cholecystitis like no other plant material. For the preparation of decoctions, crushed seeds and roots of milk thistle are used. You can use oil, but its effectiveness is delayed in time.
