21.01.2022 Complications

Burning feet or burning sensation in the feet - a sensation that causes discomfort. I want to quickly get rid of shoes, cool or scratch my foot. Among the reasons for this feeling are various disorders or even diseases. It is important to correctly understand the symptoms and, starting from them, organize treatment: at least with folk remedies, at least with pharmacy remedies.

The symptom of burning legs can mean such problems of the body:

  • varicose veins;
  • obliterating endarteritis (chronic narrowing of the veins);
  • vegetovascular dystonia;
  • thrombophlebitis;
  • atherosclerosis of the vessels of the legs;
  • dermatological infections, as well;
  • flat feet;
  • disorders of the nervous system;
  • gout;
  • allergy to materials in contact with the foot.

Advice. A sign of these diseases is an unpleasant sensation, regular burning and itching in the feet for quite a long period. It's best to go to a therapist. He will give an initial assessment and prescribe the necessary tests, on the basis of which he will determine the method of treatment.

It may be that the disease has nothing to do with it. The characteristic burning sensation of the sole of the foot sometimes occurs when:

The cause may be a disease

  1. Pregnancy. The body of a woman in such a situation works in a stressful mode, therefore, local disturbances in the functioning of one or another system are not uncommon.
  2. Lack of B vitamins. They are responsible for the health of the circulatory, nervous systems and the order of metabolic processes in the body.
  3. Overwork of the muscles, especially after a long stay on the legs.
  4. Wearing uncomfortable shoes. Too tight boots or shoes cause the effect of "play of vessels". After a long stay of the vessels of the foot in a narrowed state, their sharp expansion and a rush of blood occur.
  5. Stress and mental fatigue.

How to treat feet if the cause of the burning sensation is not a disease

The secrets to maintaining healthy feet have been known since the invention of exercise therapy. It will help relieve stress from the feet and normalize blood pressure inside them. An excellent way are contrasting foot baths. Place your feet in a bowl and pour moderately hot and cold water alternately. Pleasant relief during such a procedure is felt from the first seconds. After taking a foot bath for 15-20 minutes, lubricate your feet with a moisturizer (you can use menthol).

Advice. It is better not to limit yourself to one procedure, but to conduct a course of therapy of 10-15 sessions 1 time per day. In the bath, you can add chamomile, wormwood, calendula, linden blossom, as well as sea or table salt. Calculation: 1-2 tbsp. l. dry grass per 1 liter of boiling water.

Another way is to raise your legs above your head for 10 minutes. It is not necessary to perform a “birch”, it is enough to make a slight slope so that the outflow of blood from the feet starts. For example, lean your feet against a wall. To make the most of your time, lubricate your legs with cream in the direction from the feet to the knees. So you cool the skin and do an elementary self-massage.

Advice. Circular rotation of the feet, flexion of the toes or their slight retraction will accelerate the outflow of blood.

You can do without raising your legs above your head. Feet feel good after a warm-up on pimply prickly simulators made of wood or plastic. Feel the relaxing tingle immediately. Simulators have the same effect as small and river stones, buckwheat or peas, so it is not necessary to spend money on expensive equipment.

Traditional medicine for burning feet

With a similar symptom, folk methods of external influence on the stimulus are well suited. Of course, if it is situational and definitely not associated with diseases. Traditional medicine recommends medicines based on natural remedies that are sold in pharmacies:

Compresses and baths will help eliminate fatigue

  1. Herbal compresses with a base of hop cones or horsetail. 2 tbsp. l. pour boiling water, wait until the infusion cools to room temperature. Next, wet a piece of cloth and wrap your foot.
  2. Blue clay foot mask. Apply it on the foot with a thin layer, wrap the foot with polyethylene and put on socks. The mask should be washed off after a couple of hours with warm, non-soapy water.
  3. To enhance the effect of lotions and other external agents, take herbal infusions inside. The flowers and fruits of hawthorn will strengthen and make the vessels more elastic: 2 tbsp. l. grated plant should be poured into a thermos 300 ml of boiling water, close the lid and let it brew for several hours. Drink this medicine half an hour before meals 3 times a day, 100 ml. Pharmacy tincture of hawthorn is taken according to the same schedule, 30 drops at a time.
  4. For internal use, an infusion of chestnut flowers is excellent. 2 tbsp. l. pour into a thermos, pour boiling water and wait a few hours. Drink warm several times a day. Such an infusion is best used in 1-2 days, fresh.

Advice. A good prevention of burning in the feet is the exclusion from the diet of certain foods and drinks. If the symptom occurs with regularity, cut down on spicy foods, salt and spices, soda, and beer. All of them stimulate blood stasis.

All of the described ways to get rid of discomfort in the feet are good for primary treatment and only in cases where you are just tired and not sick. A healthy diet, fresh air, and proper restorative routines will effectively counteract the burning sensation and the factors that cause it, even if you spend whole days on your feet.
