Lenovo A6000 Review: An Inexpensive Multimedia Android Smartphone. Lenovo A6000 review - budget hard worker Lenovo a 6000 firmware 64 bit

Lenovo produces a wide variety of devices suitable for buyers from different segments: from budget gadgets to flagships with interesting functionality. And it's worth noting that the company releases new devices with enviable consistency. Today in the review we will talk about a smartphone of a budget rather than a mid-price segment - Lenovo A6000. And tomorrow we will release a review of the 100% mid-range Lenovo A7000. But enough beat around the bush, let's get down to the review.

Equipment

The device came to us in a standard Lenovo packaging: a box made of white thick cardboard, on the front side there is an image of the smartphone itself, and on the back there is information about it.

The package, in addition to the smartphone itself, includes a USB cable, a power supply, a headset, a film on the screen designed to protect it from minor damage, a plastic case and accompanying documentation. In my opinion, not bad, the company did not skimp on small, but nice features, always providing a free case for the smartphone.

Vernal view

The Lenovo A6000 case is entirely made of plastic. On the front side there is a screen covered with protective glass. The display bezels are small. Above the screen there is a company logo, a front camera lens, an earpiece covered with a grill, and light and proximity sensors.
Below, in the standard way, there are three touch-sensitive keys: "menu", "home" and "back". The lack of backlighting is disappointing, but we are already used to it.

The removable back panel has a textured surface. Above is the main camera lens, LED flash and microphone. At the bottom of the rear panel are the main stereo speakers and the inscription "DOLBY".

Above the end of the Lenovo A6000 case there is a 3.5 mm headset jack and a USB connector.
Below is the earpiece.

The control keys are located on the right side: volume control and power on / off buttons.

Under the panel is a removable battery, SIM and SD card slots.

With dimensions of 140x70x8.2, the device weighs 128 grams - not bad for a smartphone with a 5-inch screen.

The build quality is good: the parts of the smartphone are perfectly matched to each other, the panels do not creak or bend under compression and pressure.

Official renders:

Display

Lenovo A6000 received a 5-inch display with a resolution of 1280x720 pixels and a pixel density of 294 ppi, made using IPS technology, which provides the display with good color reproduction and rich colors.

The brightness level is sufficient for comfortable viewing of information in bright sunlight. The minimum brightness level is great for reading in the dark - I did not experience any discomfort. There is a possibility of automatic brightness control.

The viewing angles are wide, which is typical for such displays. There is support for multi-touch up to five simultaneous touches.

The only obvious drawback is the lack of an oleophobic coating. The screen is very easily soiled, all touch marks remain on it.

Performance

The smartphone received a quad-core Qualcomm MSM8916 Snapdragon 410 processor with a clock frequency of 1.2 GHz; GPU Adreno 306, 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal.

Despite the fact that the smartphone does not use the latest GPU, the Adreno 306 provides a smooth interface and smooth launching of applications: the menu opens smoothly, applications launch quickly, instantly responding to a call.

High definition videos of various formats are supported.

Software

Lenovo A6000 runs Android 4.4.4. with a proprietary shell Vibe UI.

Everything is pretty standard: most applications are sorted into folders: a set of Google, Yandex, Guvera Music, social networks, games, work applications, DOit set, etc.

In the settings, you can choose one of two themes, widgets, animation settings and, of course, the desktop wallpaper.

Calling the top panel will open you quick settings such as wi-fi, screen rotation lock, bluetooth, etc.

The interface is intuitive and practically does not differ from the stock in terms of user interaction.

Multimedia

So, in general, we have come to the main point in this review. After all, Lenovo A6000 is positioned as a budget smartphone with excellent multimedia capabilities.

Let's start in order.

  1. To view photos in a smartphone, a standard application is used - a gallery - no surprise.
  2. There is a voice recorder and an FM radio that works with headphones acting as an antenna - everything is like everyone else's.
  3. Music in MP3 and FLAC formats starts and plays without any problems. For audio, a separate Dolby app is used, in which you can set various sound presets. It should be noted that the included headphones do not convey the proper quality of music sound that a smartphone provides. I highly recommend using some of my own third-party headphones for listening to music - we used the Audio Technica and Philips previously tested by us in the test.
  4. What does Dolby offer us? First, there are different presets for movies / music / games and voice. You can create different profiles and customize them to your liking. Secondly, this is the Dolby Digital Plus sound enhancement function, which significantly improves the sound quality, which cannot but please even not inveterate music lovers. And thirdly, this is the sound quality of the speakers: despite their not the best location, it is worth noting that the sound is really better and louder than that of most smartphones, but as for me, it does not reach a really high-quality sound.
  5. The earpiece did not disappoint, the sound is clear and distinct, without interference.
Summarizing all of the above, we can say that Dolby Digital Plus and two speakers do not pull the smartphone to the title of a multimedia device, even for this money, you can find better devices on the market in this regard.

Connection

Lenovo A6000 supports two microSIM cards. There is only one radio module, so one of the cards will be the main one, while the other will be in "standby" mode. One of the cards works in all modes, including LTE, the second - only in 2G mode.

Supported work with 2G, 3G, 4G and LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b / g / n and Bluetooth 4.0.

GPS / GLONASS is used as a navigator. A cold start takes just under a minute, and A-GPS reduces the search time to a few seconds.

Battery

The smartphone received a removable battery with a capacity of 2300 mAh.
The supplied power supply will charge the smartphone in about two hours.

The device lasted almost 9 hours in our test at 50% brightness level. All this time, the backlight, browser and Wi-Fi worked.

That is, the capacity of the battery should be enough for a day without recharging with moderate use, and a special energy-saving mode guarantees the use of the smartphone for several days.

Camera

Lenovo A6000 is equipped with two cameras: the main 8 megapixel and the front 2 megapixel. The main camera, among other things, has autofocus and LED flash.

The camera interface is simple and intuitive. In the settings, you can find various modes / filters / effects, etc.

Pictures taken with the main camera are of average quality. Even in daylight, noise, color issues and blurring are noticeable.

Pictures taken indoors and at night seemed to us no better.
The 2MP front camera is enough for video chats and inconspicuous selfies.

The funniest thing is, of course, that the case that comes with the device gives artifacts in the photo when using a flash. A similar problem is observed in the A7000, the review of which will be released after this. It is not clear how such a failure with the supplied accessory could have been allowed.

Let's sum up

Lenovo A6000 is a good smartphone with a set of good characteristics, however, it seems to me that the device does not meet the declared multimedia capabilities. Of course, the smartphone has other sides - support for two SIM-cards and LTE, two speakers and a good price with autonomy completely neutralize the mediocre camera and the quality of these same speakers.

What did not like

Quiet, no light indication of missed call notification, sms.

What we liked

Lightweight, comfortable in the hand, fast, in 3G the sound quality is at a good level. There were no problems with home internet. The headset also works well with a bluetooth headset.

What did not like

Takes a long time to charge

What we liked

Screen. Looks stylish.

What did not like

Using the month I found some bugs. Now I'm typing on it. uncomfortable. Finely, the finger often misses the letters. A standard case in the kit, which begins to crack, after heavy toys in the face of the same NFS NL, when the application is closed, the slave table is loaded, 6-7 sec. The fact that there is no main menu is okay, I'm used to it. Well, the memory card is stupid, but this is the essence of android, the translator wanted to download 12 MB, on the card there are 49 ost, and does not download. Not the point is important. And there is no standard alarm clock.

What we liked

Stylish, thinner body, unlike its rivals "and the price is not biting. A big plus, you can delete standard applications.

What did not like

Slightly buggy sensor on the sides (mb marriage? I don't know), no backlighting of the menu buttons

What we liked

The sound quality is decent, loud, the charge holds for about a day with 4G and two active SIM on, quite fast, nice design, good camera.

What did not like

Dolby Digital only works with the built-in player. If you put the phone somewhere with the back cover down, the speakers are completely blocked. There are slowdowns and jerking in the menu and Play market. The processor and video accelerator are average in terms of performance. Heavy games will not pull. Ideally, you need 2 GB of RAM. There are also flaws in the software.

What we liked

2 stereo speakers, good sound. an energy-consuming battery, excellent performance in finding networks, not a bad design, the plastic of the back cover pleases.

What did not like

Poor headphone sound
- often slows down
- takes a long time to charge
- many unnecessary applications
- an error in the calendar (to be treated by changing the time zone)
- gps does not work well
- heats up

What we liked

Slim and light - inexpensive - good battery - 4G - display - strong signal reception

What did not like

The 3 main buttons below the screen are not highlighted. Unusual, but addictive. The attached bumper began to burst at the bottom from both corners ..... and figs with it, I get used to it for a month, then I'll take it off altogether.

What we liked

Like everything. 4G is generally super. The Internet flies. The screen is great. All social networks, mail, browser ... in short, all life is now through the phone. I forgot the computer when I turned it on. Before that, there was Hayscreen omega prime mini .... also a good phone, only there is no 4G in it ...... and it broke the screen inadvertently.

What did not like

It sits down quickly, the headphones that were included, to put it mildly, were not very good, I bought new ones.
The google keyboard is inconvenient (it is better to download another one), most applications using the Internet hang in the background (they eat traffic and charge, but this is more a problem of the applications themselves than the device), very unnecessary applications that can be removed without interfering with the system,

What we liked

Good sound, fast internet, good camera, good processor (the choice was between the a5000 with an mt processor and a6000 with a snapdragon 410 processor, the result ... I chose the power), the package bundle is quite rich (the presence of a film and a bumper), very light, comfortable in the hand , pleases the presence of built-in dolby digital drivers

What did not like

Works slowly, especially after updating;
- the screen is scratched in the pocket;
- does not always turn off the screen when it is brought to the ear.
- when a second call comes in, turns on the screen (after update)

What we liked

4G works fine; - plastic, pleasant to the touch; - the body is not scratched;

What did not like

Software support from lenovo, OTA 5.0.2 is not finalized, who bought the phone, stay on 4.4 and do not update, soiled screen (solved the protective glass from Ali for $ 1)

What we liked

Bright, clear display, good sound, good price, lte support

Advanced audio system.

The A6000 delivers superb sound quality for watching movies, listening to music and playing games - both through the built-in speakers and headphones. GPS offline.

Finding your way has never been so easy: the A6000 smartphone is equipped with GPS and GLONASS satellite navigation, allowing you to get an accurate route even without Internet access.

Expandable storage system.

The A6000 storage is easy to expand with a microSD card up to 32GB. This capacity is enough to store a huge amount of photos, music, videos and other files.

Slots for two SIM-cards.

With dual SIM support, you can use one smartphone for both work and play. In addition, by choosing different tariff plans, it is easy to save on communication services.

So, Lenovo is once again ready to offer us something new. This has already become commonplace, given the manufacturer's activity in the mobile market and the flexibility of the approach to the formation of the product line. When you look at the proposals, the thought arises that without what you need, you definitely will not leave - a suitable solution must be found for everyone.

Thanks to the online store DragonMart, this time we will talk about a five-inch inexpensive A-series smartphone, in which the manufacturer decided to focus on multimedia capabilities like Dolby Digital Plus sound support, and not on body materials or battery.

Unfortunately, in the budget segment it is impossible to make a premium externally, charged internally, omnivorous, technological and long-playing smartphone. Here you have to choose one thing or be content with a balance of modest characteristics. And what about our Lenovo A6000?

The smartphone can be found on sale in one modification: with 8 GB of internal memory for data storage, 1 GB of RAM and two slots for SIM cards. A6000 is officially supplied to the Russian market and is accompanied by local support. So far, only the black color of the case is presented, but there is also a white modification on sale. We have a black version on the test. The price of the A6000 is currently at the average mark of 12 thousand rubles.

We also note that it is already known about the version of Lenovo A6000 Plus with double the amount of RAM and built-in storage. White, red and yellow body colors should be added.

The configuration turned out to be very restrained, but at the same time it meets the minimum modern requirements. It has a decent processor, LTE support and a proprietary software interface. The weak points of a multimedia smartphone include not the highest display resolution, a small amount of RAM and a modest battery capacity. In general, the parameters of the new items look good.

It's time to move on to the step-by-step study of the Lenovo A6000. Let's traditionally start with packaging and appearance.

Packaging and arrangement Lenovo A6000

The hero of the review entered the test in a white cardboard box.

The packaging surface is marked with the company logo, model image and basic information about the device.

The device is in a separate tray just under the box lid.

The following package is included under the smartphone:

  • USB cable;
  • Charger (5.0 V, 1.0 A);
  • Headset headphones;
  • Protective film on the screen;
  • Plastic case;
  • Documentation.

The quality of all components of the delivery is normal.

Headphones are one of the cheapest. It is strange that with a multimedia smartphone, which focuses on sound quality, they decided to use just such a headset option.

On the headphone-headset wire there is a control panel with one button and a microphone.

The cover is made of resilient matte rough plastic.

In theory, it should fit snugly around the body of the device, leaving access to all technological holes and buttons. If everything is fine with the coincidence of the slots on the case, then its size is slightly smaller than the size of the device case. This prevents it from snapping normally on all sides.

However, the included case can protect your smartphone until you find something better for it.

Now let's go directly to the device itself.

Specific Absorption Rate (SAR)

SAR levels refer to the amount of electromagnetic radiation absorbed by the human body when using a mobile device.

Body SAR (EU)

The SAR level indicates the maximum amount of electromagnetic radiation that a person's body is exposed to when holding a mobile device at hip level. The highest SAR value for mobile devices in Europe is 2 W / kg per 10 grams of human tissue. This standard was established by the CENELEC committee in accordance with ICNIRP guidelines from 1998 and IEC standards.

0.657 W / kg (Watts per kilogram)
Head SAR (US)

The SAR level indicates the maximum amount of electromagnetic radiation that a person's body is exposed to if a mobile device is held close to the ear. The maximum value used in the United States is 1.6 W / kg per gram of human tissue. US mobile devices are controlled by CTIA and the FCC conducts tests and sets their SAR values.
