Oh, those taverns! What can you not sign up for after a pint or two of sweet ale... Today salty notes appeared in his taste, and for good reason. After all, we are in the port, and the sea is very close! And our glorious heroes, apparently, do not have to travel by land at all. And it seems that no less interesting adventures await us at sea than on land.

Another basic set “Pathfinder. Card Game" changes the course of the adventure ship to the distant Shackles archipelago, consisting of islands with many pirate coves and remote places where you can come across an ambush or a legendary sea monster. There are a total of 510 cards available to players, including the Plunder or Die adventure and the first set, Mutiny on Wormwood, which unlocks Skull and Shackles.


In the rule book, the authors assure that the Skulls and Shackles cards are fully compatible with cards from any other sets. However, in reality it is worth considering that some of the cards in one set may not be effective in another. The most striking example: the characters in Skulls and Shackles, while seemingly similar to their counterparts in Return of the Runelords, in fact have completely different abilities, adapted specifically for play in this basic set.

The changes also affected other game elements. The consequences of summoning cards from the box have expanded and can even lead to the appearance of new locations on the field. Defeating minions no longer guarantees that you will be able to close the corresponding location.


The main innovation of Skulls and Shackles, of course, is naval paraphernalia: fleet support cards, ships and loot. Tired of walking around the world, the heroes will be able to enjoy the fresh breeze and relax on board their own ship, purchased with honest heroic gold from past adventures. True, only in the intervals between battles with pirates, encounters with sea monsters, repairs and scrubbing of the deck.

Movements on a ship between locations occur provided that the ship is not moored and the active character decides to sail rather than walk on foot. The ship not only makes it possible to take other heroes with you from the same location, but also protects you while traveling, taking damage in collisions with enemies. Heroes, in turn, can reduce damage with cards with the appropriate ability - otherwise the ship will be destroyed, and the adventurers will lose the opportunity to capture loot and gradually lose what they received earlier.


Loot - cards from the box, captured by the crew and stored on the ship. These cards remain face down until the end of the scenario, creating suspense. Upon successful completion of the scenario, the saved loot cards become trophies and are distributed among the players, who, after a short break, will go for new loot - and new adventures.

Sun, air and sea spaces teeming with aggressive animals - what else do true adventurers need for an ideal vacation? Perhaps, high-quality components, rich illustrations and... yes, yes, yes! Additions, additions and more additions. On all these points, the Hobby World publishing house continues to keep its mark, and some additions have already appeared in Russian. Skull and Shackles is a new base for the Pathfinder card game. This box has everything you need to start your new campaign. Gather your crew and equipment, board the ship and begin a great sea voyage in the legendary world of Golarion. You will be confronted by ferocious sharks, deep-sea monsters, desperate pirates and the treacherous reefs of the Shackles archipelago.

There is no leader in the Pathfinder card game - players fight together against an ever-changing game.

At the very beginning of your journey, you need to create a character deck. You can use already prepared recommended decks or create your own. A character's deck typically contains cards for armor, items, companions, blessings, weapons, and spells. Maps will help you deal with obstacles, monsters, villains and their minions.

Each of your cards has several additional properties. For example, for weapons, the type of damage dealt (cutting, piercing, gunshot), distance (melee or ranged) and other special characteristics are usually indicated.

Depending on the situation, the game may take into account different properties of the card. But you don’t need to remember the properties and rules for their use. Any special conditions will be written on the monster or obstacle card. It's simple, effective and very thematic! For example, you cannot poison or hypnotize a ghost, and you cannot hide from a shark. We'll have to fight!

Each stage of the adventure consists of several locations. Usually, the location has its own additional rules. And, as always, these rules are written right on the location map. Your main goal is to find the main villain, cut off his escape route, and destroy him.

Anything that doesn't send you to the bottom of the sea will make you stronger. Your heroes will learn new skills and spells, acquire formidable weapons and strong armor, make friends with old sea wolves and dolphins, and maybe even capture the ship of their dreams. As you progress through the campaign, your progress is saved—develop your heroes the way you want.

Completed super goals

Along with the game project participants will receive 2 adventure decks (220 cards) and 14 promo cards.

In retail the game will be sold with the first adventure deck. The recommended retail price is 2450. The second adventure deck can be purchased for 590 rubles. That is, at retail, a set of a box with the game and two adventure decks will cost 3,040 rubles.

Additional reward "Pirate Dice Tower"

Young, head for the Shackles archipelago! Turn the helm and overcome the most terrible sea trials.

The HDF cube tower from the Correct Games company is a beautiful and practical way to pull fortune and monkfish by the whiskers. Load the cubes from above, rotate the steering wheel, and enjoy the result of your throw.

At the bottom of the tower is a chest for storing cubes. It can be used as a limiting wall to prevent the cubes from rolling too much on the table.

The tower can be painted to make it even more beautiful. To assemble the chest you will need PVA glue; to assemble the tower itself, no glue is needed.

Additional reward "Set of stands for 7 cards"

The design consists of two vertical transparent plates (2mm) inserted into a horizontal plastic plate (3mm, green). Then the entire structure is installed in the HDF base, which fixes the vertical plates. You can insert a character card or any other card into this stand.

Additional award "Organizer"

The organizer was created jointly with our friends from the company Correct Games. Since we were preparing an organizer specifically for the Pathfinder card game, we took into account all the nuances:

  • The organizer fits inside the Russian box of the Pathfinder card game. The box lid closes.
  • Up to 22 adjustable width compartments.
  • The organizer holds 1325 cards in protectors. This is more than enough for the base set of cards and all the additions for this project, including a possible super goal.
  • There is space to store several sets of cubes.
  • Assembly does not require glue.

The organizer is made of HDF (High Density Fiberboard). HDF is a very pleasant material to the touch and visually.

The width of the organizer compartments is adjusted by rearranging the partitions. You can create very small or very large compartments if you wish. Read more about the organizer.

If you ordered cardholders or a deck for counting moves, then you will have to sacrifice some of the organizer’s compartments. All additional rewards will not fit into the game box at once.
