What is Root?

For those who have just become a beginner or are not an expert in the huge world of Android and are not particularly familiar with the concept of how - Root Android, and also why it is needed, what can be done after obtaining Root rights or how to get rid of them later if they are no longer needed, all this can be found in the detailed article -!

Primarily!

There are no "left" links or unnecessary actions in this article! If you really need Root Rights, then read carefully and follow it step by step, this is a guarantee that you will do everything right! This article on obtaining Root rights is divided into two parts: The first part is Required components and conditions, the second part is Instructions how to get root rights using the received files and programs. If, in the process of getting root rights, Android constantly reboots or in the process of eternal loading (it happens extremely rarely, but still), then it's worth it. Now let's get down to getting Root rights!

Android manufacturers sometimes release new firmware on which it is not possible to get Root using one of the proposed methods, if there are other alternative methods in the article, try them. Doesn't it work all the same? Indicate the Android version and the firmware version in the comments (you shouldn't write spiteful shit comments, you won't get it for yourself or others). Android hangs (does not load), read and re-read from the very FIRST paragraph, all the necessary links in the article are present!

Still have questions?

Still have questions or can't root your Android? Leave comments about what you did or didn’t, or you did differently.

At the request of friends, I got confused for the evening with a new gadget.

Optimized and used the following installation process:

1. Installing drivers. Unlock, installing firmware and getting root.

Installing drivers: Drivers must be installed before all the following steps !!!

Run everything as administrator !!!

(install in the following order: 1. MotoHelper_2.0.49_Driver_5.0.0 2. usbdriver (1) (install it through the device manager if it contains an exclamation mark on an unknown device or contains ATB or Mot devices in the name) Click to update the driver , then Search on this computer, select a driver from the list of already installed ones, specify the path to the driver For example: G: \ usbdriver (1) \ android_usb.inf).

Do not forget about the checkbox in the xoom settings for USB debugging, in fact, the program will remind you of this before starting the process itself. The process proceeds almost independently, you just need to make sure that your actions are correct, checking with constantly pop-up tips at every step.

Getting root was done using the program: RootMyXoom.03.exe Run the program, follow the instructions.

everything is done here, practically with one click. + following the instructions that appear on the screen of the device.

2. Installing applications. For this, a program was used: AUTO-APK Installer

all files that you want to install, with the apk extension, are shoved into the folder with the unzipped program called PLACE-APK-HERE

then run the executable AUTO-APK Installer.exe

press everywhere ok and yes. After confirming that your device is connected, the process will continue automatically.

after installation, all completed (installed) packages can be found in the folder with the program, it is called Installed, those files that remained in the PLACE-APK-HERE folder were not installed. You need to re-run AUTO-APK Installer.exe so that it installs all the programs. (The device is always on during installation.)

3.Rusification using the program: jp.co.c_lis.ccl.morelocale.apk

Install via the AUTO-APK Installer described above. We launch it on the device, select the Russian language. It is Russified, though not everything, for example, the settings on my sample have remained invariably in English.

Who is friends with English here on the manual with a video on this topic (in the video, everything is done manually).

Collected an archive, it contains everything that can be useful on the way to achieving what you want =)

List of files attached to the archive, since I was tortured to collect everything I needed across the vast expanses of the network and broken links, everything that was put into the archive was used personally to get the results:

Folder 01:

installAPK

MotoHelper_2.0.49_Driver_5.0.0

usbdriver (1)

XOOM_manual-DL

XOOM folder: (contains the RootMyXoom.03.exe program)

Folder 02:

AUTO-APK INSTALLER

Folder Russifier:

jp.co.c_lis.ccl.morelocale

Use according to folder hierarchy. Those. in order =)

Have you decided to upgrade your smartphone? Rootgadget will tell how to update firmware on Motorola Xoom 2 safely. We have written detailed instructions for you.

Why update firmware on Android

All are guided by different reasons.

  • Problem with front or rear camera.
  • Poor display response to pressing.
  • I would like to see the new Android Pie 9.0.
  • I'm tired of the old version of Android, I want to expand the functionality.
  • The phone doesn't want to turn on.
  • The phone stopped charging.

  1. First you need to download the firmware by choosing one of the options below. Together with it, the archive contains the necessary set of programs (TWRP and others).
  2. Then unpack the archive and find the file "instruction_rootgadget.txt". You can unpack the archive with any archiver (7ZIP, WinRar and others).
  3. The firmware zip file in the archive must be downloaded to a memory card or smartphone memory.
  4. For the rest of the information and the sequence of actions, see the text instructions.

Motorola Xoom 2 firmware

Choose what you like, but it is best to download the most modern versions, there are more optimized power consumption and other joys in life.

  • Android Pie 9.0 - we can say the flagship OS, but still a little unfinished
  • 8.0 Oreo is a great option, a minimum of bugs and rich functionality, but version 9 is certainly better.
  • 7.0 Nougat is a stable version in all respects, it works even on low-power hardware.
  • 6.0 Marshmallow - 5 and 6 versions - this is already real old stuff, although it was once the pinnacle of progress. But if you switch to them from version 3 or 4, then of course the difference is very noticeable.

Root rights

If you want to get root access, you can use the universal program Rookthp Pro 2.4, Website address: rootkhp.pro... Instructions for using the program can be found. And also from the universal we can advise ZYKUroot version 2.2. You can find out information about him at zykuroot.info
We will not talk about more popular programs, the same Kingo and Framaroot are always heard, although they are losing ground a little

Motorola devices are flashed with RSD Lite software. The process is the same, but depending on the model, adjustments are made in the process. Let's take a closer look at this on the process of flashing the Razr M XT907 smartphone.

RSD Lite is Motorola's tool for installing software, downloading official firmware only and is not suitable for third-party modifications. The program checks the region of the device and will not allow installing European or Asian firmware on an American smartphone, and vice versa. In addition, in most cases, you cannot downgrade the firmware or certain partitions (except for the unlocked bootloader).

Training

  1. Check the device model, referring to the information in the "About phone" section of the settings. This will help you select the correct file and avoid problems in the process.
  2. Decide what type of firmware you need. The end of the file name contains combinations of CFC and 1FF, they do not differ in their structure, with the exception of the firmware file.
    • CFC - when flashing, all information from the phone is erased (flashing from scratch).
    • 1FF - intended for updating and does not affect the data of the internal memory
  3. Download the firmware, but first make sure that the disk space on your computer is at least 2 times more than the firmware itself weighs.
  4. Download and install the drivers from the official Motorola page, as well as the RSD Lite program from the link. Be sure to download the latest driver and program.

Important! For security reasons, RSD will prevent the installation of inappropriate firmware, but exceptions occur, which can damage the smartphone. Prepare properly and don't be hasty.

Preparing for firmware

  1. For security purposes, remove SIM and MicroSD card, take data from internal memory.
  2. Make sure the battery is at least 75% charged.
  3. Unpack the firmware you downloaded if it is in the archive.
  4. The extracted folder contains an XML file, open it with WordPad or Notepad. In the code that appears, delete the lines, this will avoid software damage to the device:

Search by keywords - tz and gpt.

Also, if you have a device from the American operator Verizon, delete the line will solve a possible error when flashing. If there is no line, follow the instructions below.

Important! The installation of official Motorola firmware is the same for all models. In some cases, the XML file needs to be pre-edited, and sometimes not. The instructions describe an example of upgrading Motorola Razr M XT907 firmware from Android 4.1.2 to Android 4.4.2. This does not require an unlocked boot, but for a downgrade, for example from Android 4.4.2 to Android 4.1.2, an unlocked bootloader is required. Then from the XML firmware Android 4.1.2 delete the following lines:

Whether and what lines of code you need to remove for your model, check on the specialized forums.

5. We do a factory reset or delete the cache and date in recovery mode. To get into recovery (recovery mode), turn off the device, simultaneously hold down the power and volume buttons, hold until a logo appears with text at the top of the screen. We find the desired item by scrolling down with the volume button (scrolling is cyclical), the selection is made with the up key. In a new window (with a lying green robot), simultaneously hold down both volume keys. In the list of actions that appears, clear the cache and data.

6. We transfer the smartphone to the firmware mode via RSD Lite, for devices up to 2013 we do it manually, in other cases RSD will do it itself. The sequence of actions is the same as in the previous paragraph, only you need to select AP Fastboot.

Firmware via RDS LITE

1. Connect the USB cable to the back of the computer, do not use a USB hub or extension cables, use only an original cable or a high-quality analogue. Close all background programs, make sure the computer does not restart in the process, and that the cord is firmly plugged in at both ends.

2. Run RSD Lite, insert the path with the location of the firmware into the “Filename” field, or look for it by clicking on the button with the ellipsis. Click the Show Device button to refresh the list of models. Below, in the left window, information about the connected device will be displayed, in the right window about the selected firmware.

3. If everything is in order, press the "Start" button, after which the firmware will start. From now on, under no circumstances touch the phone, do not perform any actions on the computer.

4. We are waiting for the files to download. The “system.img” firmware will take the most time (3-5 minutes). In the process, the smartphone will reboot 1-2 times, do not be alarmed.

5. After the end, the system will start on the smartphone itself (the first download is 1.5-2 times longer than the subsequent ones), and Pass will be written in the “Result” column. If you still have "In Progress ...", do not touch the device for 5 minutes, and then turn it off.

6. If necessary, do a factory reset (recommended).

If the firmware has failed in the "Result" column, the inscription "Fail" will be displayed. Description of the cause of the error in the Log file, which is located in the same folder with RSD Lite. Open and report the error on the profile forum, so that they can help you figure out the problem.
