G City and museum orienteering grades 8-9

Young local historians travel around the city

On April 21, one of the stages of the VII regional Olympiad in local history for schoolchildren of St. Petersburg for grades 8-9 took place - city and museum orienteering, in which teams from 13 districts of the city took part. Groups of schoolchildren started at 11 o'clock from different parts of the city and traveled with a route sheet to city sites. Representatives of the historical and local history club "Petropol" GBNOU "SPB GDTU" also took part in urban orientation (teacher - Ladyzhnikova A.E.) as part of a team of institutions of city subordination.

One of the tests for young local historians was museum orientation in state museums, such as the Art Center “Pushkinskaya, 10”, the Central Naval Museum, the St. Petersburg State Museum of Theater and Musical Art, the State Museum of Political Museum of the History of Russia, the State Literary Memorial Museum of Anna Akhmatova in the Fountain House, State Literary Museum "XX Century" (Zoshchenko Museum), Museum of the Lenfilm Film Studio, Museum Complex "Universe of Water", Literary and Memorial Museum of F.M. Dostoevsky, State Museum of the History of St. Petersburg. The tasks in the museum were individual in nature.

During the routes, the Olympiad participants tried to figure out a common idea that could unite all the objects of the route. The theme of this year's Olympiad was Images of St. Petersburg. The Olympiad participants tried to determine which image was “hidden” in each of the routes. While working with the route sheet, the guys recorded their progress using smartphones and posted their stories on the Instagram social network. At the end of the city orienteering, all teams gathered at the State Budget Educational Institution Gymnasium No. 107 of the Vyborg District, where the participants were able to get acquainted with the images of St. Petersburg from other teams. The presentation of the results was assessed by experts - methodologists in local history from different districts of the city, representatives of museums and educational institutions of the city.

The summing up and awarding of the Olympiad participants will take place in the Anichkov Palace, May 11, at 15.00, on the Small Stage.

The results of the VII regional Olympiad in local history for schoolchildren of St. Petersburg for grades 9-11 have been summed up

On April 26, the award ceremony for the winners and prize-winners of the Olympiad in Local History (grades 9-11) in 2018 took place at the Anichkov Palace.

For older students, competitive tests consisted of examination of a research paper (maximum 20 points), full-time defense of research in thematic sections on April 7 (maximum 8 points) and answers to test tasks (maximum 12 points). As a result, it was possible to score 40 points.Final rating table

The variety of research topics of young local historians is amazing. Recently, the study of exhibits from school museums and items from family archives has been of great interest to participants in local history conferences. Butylov Matvey (Club "Petropol" GBNOU "SPB GDTU") and Lamzin Denis (school No. 529 of the Petrodvortsovo district) created completely unique research works, starting from just one subject - photography.

The experts were pleased with a number of works devoted to the history of educational institutions, completed by students on the basis of archival materials: school No. 332 of the Nevsky district and No. 156 of the Kalininsky district, gymnasium No. 402 of the Kolpinsky district. Representatives of the local history association "Okhta" - Vasilyeva Veronika and Golovina Lidiya (GBU DO Children's Youth and Youth Youth Theater "On Lenskaya" Krasnogvardeisky district) studied the materials from the archive of the museum of the Russian State Pedagogical University named after. A.I. Herzen. As a result, fascinating student works appeared about the first children's justice of the peace N.A. Okunev and the formation of a system of social and legal protection of minors.

Traditionally, very strong works were devoted to studying the history of the area, streets, and houses. I would like to note the work of Ivan Isaev (school No. 530 of the Pushkinsky district) on one of the mansions of Tsarskoe Selo and the work of Maria Kopylova (historical and local history club "Petropol" GBNOU "SPB GDTU") on the formation of an address system in St. Petersburg, Anna Baklushina (school No. 336 of Nevsky district) about the history of Shchemilovka and Tabachnik Ksenia (Youth University of St. Petersburg GBNOU "SPB GDTU"), based on unique archival materials and dedicated to the temple of Metropolitan Peter on Ulyanka.

The work of Valeria Sycheva (school No. 560 of the Vyborg district) on the history of the Vyborg Garden stands out with particular consistency and courage in defending her position.

Of particular importance are studies covering the history of the siege and the battle for Leningrad. Victoria Petrova (Club "Petropol" GBNOU "SPB GDTY") created a work dedicated to the historian, veteran, member of the Olympiad jury, now deceased - Mikhail Ivanovich Frolov, collecting numerous memories. And the blockade diary, analyzed by Timokhina Alina (GBU DO DYuT “On Lenskaya”, Krasnogvardeisky district), requires mandatory publication.

Very strong works by students of the Petropol club and the YUP city Palace of Youth Creativity are traditionally dedicated to the biographies of famous St. Petersburg residents. Varvara Chusovitina researched the addresses of N. Agnivtsev, Polina Romanova studied the biography of A. Vvedensky, Anna Andreeva introduced E. Pavlov to the scientific activities, Leonid Leusenko continued studying the biography of Starokadomsky, Polina Vasilyeva (school No. 416 of the Petrodvortsovo district) discovered unknown siege pages of the life of actress V. Faberg.

The award ceremony was attended by Boris Valerievich Grumbkov, General Director of the Joint Stock Company Publishing House St. Petersburg Vedomosti. Boris Valerievich prepared special prizes for the participants of the Olympiad: two diplomas from the editors of the newspaper “For preserving the memory of the Great Patriotic War” for Valeria Petrova and “For a special opinion” for Valeria Sycheva, as well as the publication of 6 works of the winners and prize-winners of the Olympiad on the website of the newspaper “St. -Petersburg Gazette".
