All bodies that have signs of life have a cellular structure. When scientists better studied the structure and functions of cells, it became clear that the substance, the contents of the cell, is an extremely complex system of heterogeneous components. The cell has irritability, the ability to move, grow, reproduce and adapt to changes in the external environment. The set of biochemical processes carried out by a cell that ensure its growth and restoration is called metabolism, or metabolism. The protoplasm of each cell is constantly changing: it absorbs new substances, subjects them to various chemical changes, builds new protoplasm and converts the energy contained in the molecules of proteins, fats and carbohydrates into kinetic energy and heat, as these substances turn into other, simpler ones connections. If you set the task to develop and “construct” something like this, even at the current level of development of science, this does not seem possible. Is it possible to speak seriously about the “accidentality” of the origin of this most complex organic formation, due to the random “successful” mixing of chemical elements? It’s the same as after a sandstorm, the Moscow City building “accidentally” gets built, with all the office equipment inside.

The DNA molecule deserves special consideration. This molecule stores all the necessary information to build a new organism. The uniqueness of this structure is that all the information contained in the molecule is encrypted. This fact alone proves that the creation of this structure cannot be explained by chance. Deciphering this information, in order to build a new organism, also cannot do without the presence of a decoding program. He has already decided everything for himself. A person who really wants to find out something for himself is ready to follow the path of knowledge, or at least logical reasoning.

Everyone knows such a phenomenon as clairvoyance. It is defined as a type of extrasensory perception, the presumed ability of a person to receive information beyond the channels of perception known to science and determined by modern scientific means, including information about events of the past and future (Wikipedia). Don't you want someone to just give you proof of God's existence just once? There will be no arm-twisting. There will also be no statements like “You just have to believe.” We will simply try to sincerely offer you reasons for the existence of God.

However, please note the following. In the case where a person refutes the very possibility of the existence of God, any evidence can be rationalized and refuted. It's like someone refusing to believe that people were on the moon. In this case, no information can change a person’s opinion. Traces of astronauts who walked the planet, interviews with the astronauts themselves, lunar rocks - all this evidence in this case will have no value, because man has already concluded for himself that people cannot get to the moon.

When it comes to the possibility of God's existence, the Bible says that there are people who have seen enough evidence and yet reject the truth about God. 1 . On the other hand, for those who want to know if there is a God, He says: “And seek Me and find Me, if you seek Me with all your heart. And I will be found by you." 2.

Before you begin to examine the facts surrounding the existence of God, ask yourself the question: “If God exists, would I want to know Him?”

So, below are the arguments for the existence of God...

1. Throughout human history, in all cultures of the world, people have been confident in the existence of God.

Can anyone say with any certainty that all these people were wrong? Billions of people representing various sociological, intellectual, emotional, educational circles... they all came to the conclusion that there is a Creator, a God worthy of worship. “Anthropological research shows that among the most primitive peoples, living in the most remote places, there is a universal belief in God. In the early legends and tales of the peoples of the world, the original concept of God was associated with God the Creator. The true supreme God lived then in the consciousness of people, even in those societies that are polytheistic today.” 3

2. The complexity of the organization of our planet points to the existence of a Creator who not only created our Universe, but maintains its existence today.

One could probably give an infinite number of examples that testify to God's plan. Here are just a few of them:

Earth...has the perfect size. The size of the earth and the corresponding gravitational force holds a thin layer of mostly nitrogen and oxygen that extends only 50 miles above the earth's surface. If the Earth were smaller, the existence of an atmosphere on it would be impossible, as on the planet Mercury. If the Earth were larger, its atmosphere would contain free hydrogen, like Jupiter's. 4 The Earth is the only planet known to us that is equipped with an atmosphere containing the necessary composition of gases to support plant, animal and human life.

The earth is located at the correct distance from the sun. Temperature variations are known to range from -30 to 120 degrees Fahrenheit. If the Earth were even a little further from the sun, we would freeze. If closer, they would have burned. Even a slight deviation in the position of the Earth in relation to the sun would make life on Earth impossible. The Earth maintains this ideal distance from the sun while rotating around the sun at about 67,000 miles per hour. In addition, it rotates on its axis, allowing the Earth's surface to sufficiently warm up and cool down every day.

Our moon is also the perfect size and distance from Earth for a given gravitational pull. The moon creates the necessary ebb and flow in the ocean waters, so that the oceans do not become stagnant. At the same time, it prevents the spread of massive oceanic masses across continents. 5 .

Water... a colorless, tasteless and odorless substance. However, no living creature can survive without this substance. Plants, animals and people are mostly made up of water (water makes up about 2/3 of the human body). It's clear why water's characteristics are uniquely suited to life: water has an unusually high boiling and freezing point. Water allows us to live with fluctuations in temperature while maintaining a constant body temperature of 98.6 F (36.6 C).

Water is a unique solvent. If you take a glass of water and add a glass of sugar to it, nothing will spill over the edge of the glass; the water will simply absorb the sugar. This property of water allows thousands of chemicals, minerals, and nutrients to be carried throughout the body, including the smallest blood vessels. 6

Water is also chemically neutral. Without interfering with the chemistry of the substances it carries, it allows food, drugs and minerals to be absorbed and absorbed by the body.

Water has a unique surface tension. Thanks to this, resisting gravity, water is able to move upward from the root of the plant, saturating even the tallest trees to the very top with vital water and nutrients.

Salty ocean water evaporates and clouds form, which are easily moved by the wind and distribute the fresh water necessary for vegetation, animals and people across the land. We are talking about the global system of the water cycle in nature, which supports life on this planet, allowing water to be used again and again.

3. The complexity of the human brain proves the existence of an even more intelligent Creator behind it.

Human brain...capable of simultaneously processing an astonishing amount of information. Your brain perceives all the colors and objects you see, the temperature of the environment, the pressure of your feet on the floor, the sounds around you, the dryness of your mouth. Your brain registers emotional reactions, thoughts and memories. At the same time, the brain controls processes occurring in your body, such as breathing, eyelid movement, hunger, and arm muscle movements.

The human brain processes more than a million messages per second. 8 . Your brain weighs the importance of all information, eliminating the relatively unimportant. A brain that processes more than a million pieces of information every second, simultaneously assessing its importance and allowing you to operate on the information that is most significant to you at the moment... can we say that such an amazing organ arose by mere chance?

When NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) organizes a space mission, it is assumed that the plan was not developed by a monkey, but by knowledgeable and understanding people. How can a person explain the existence of the human brain? Only a mind superior to the human was capable of creating the human brain.

4. Mere chance is not a sufficient explanation.

Imagine Mount Rushmore, carved with the likenesses of Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt. Would you ever believe that these images appeared there by chance? Even if we assume the presence of indefinite time, wind, rain and chance, it is difficult to believe that anything like this, connected with history, could form by chance on the plane of a mountain. Common sense tells us that people planned and skillfully carved these images.

This article touches on just a few amazing aspects of our world: the position of the Earth in relation to the sun, some properties of water, just one organ of the human body. Could any of these phenomena have occurred by chance?

The famous astronomer Sir Frederick Hoyle showed how absurd, from a mathematical point of view, the random combination of amino acids in a human cell. Sir Hoyle illustrated the improbability of such an accident with the following analogy. What are the odds that a tornado would pass over a junk market that would contain all the parts of a Boeing 747, randomly form a plane out of those parts, and leave it there, ready to take off. The probability of this happening is so low that it could be ignored even if a tornado were to pass over enough landfills to fill the universe! 9

When thinking about the complexities of our lives and the universe, it is most acceptable to consider that a loving, intelligent Creator has provided everything necessary for our lives. The Bible calls God the author of life on Earth and the one who supports this life.

5. God has revealed Himself not only in what we can observe in nature and in human life.

He revealed Himself even more clearly in the Bible. We can only know God's thoughts, personality, and relationships if God chooses to reveal them to us. Everything else will be just human speculation. We would be in a difficult situation if God did not want us to know Him. But God wants us to know Him, so He told us in the Bible everything we need to know about His character and relationship with Him. All this should make us think seriously about the reliability of the Bible.

Archaeological excavations continue to confirm, rather than disprove, the accuracy of the Bible. For example, archaeological finds in northern Israel in August 1993 confirmed the existence of King David, the author of many of the Bible's Psalms. 10 . The Dead Sea Scrolls and other archaeological discoveries prove the historical accuracy of the Bible.

The Bible was written over 1,500 years apart, by 40 different authors, from different places and different continents, in three different languages, addressing different issues at different points in history. eleven . Nevertheless, there is a striking constancy of the Biblical text. The same themes are raised throughout the Bible:

1. God created the world in which we live, He also created us to communicate with Him.
2. He loves us deeply.
3. He is holy, therefore he cannot have relationships with sinful people.
4. God has provided a way to forgive our sins.
5. He invites us to receive His salvation and establish a relationship with Him that will last forever.

Along with this central theme, the Bible reveals to us God's character. Psalm 144 can be considered a typical description of God and His thoughts and feelings towards us. If you want to know God, He is here for you.

6. Unlike all other revelations of God, Jesus Christ is the clearest and most concrete image of God.

Why Jesus? Consider the major religions of the world and you will find that Buddha, Muhammad, Confucius and Moses called themselves teachers and prophets. None of them equated themselves with God. To everyone's surprise, this was done by Jesus. This is what sets Jesus apart from everyone else. He said that God exists and that you see Him. And although He spoke about His Heavenly Father, He did this from a position not of separation from Him, but of a very close unity, unique to all humanity. Jesus said that anyone who has seen Him has seen the Father, anyone who believes in Him also believes in the Father.

He said: “I am the light of the world; Whoever follows Me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” 12 . He claimed to have qualities unique to God: the ability to forgive people their sins, free them from sinful habits, give people abundant life and eternal life in Heaven. Unlike other teachers who tried to draw people's attention to their words, Jesus pointed people to Himself. He didn't say, "Follow my words and you will know the truth."

He said: “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through Me.” 13 .

What evidence does Jesus give to support his divine nature? He did what people can't do. Jesus performed miracles. He healed people...the sick, the crippled, the deaf, even raised several people from the dead. He had power over objects...producing food out of thin air that was enough to feed several thousand people. He performed miracles on nature...walked on the surface of the lake, for the sake of His friends He commanded the storm to stop. People followed Jesus everywhere as He continually met their needs by doing the impossible. He said this: if you do not want to believe what I tell you, you should believe in Me at least on the basis of the miracles that you see. 14 .

What did Jesus reveal about the personality of God? What is revealed to us about God's thoughts, expectations, feelings towards humanity? Jesus Christ showed that God is gentle and loving, He is aware of our selfishness and shortcomings. And yet, he deeply desires to have a relationship with us. Jesus revealed that although God sees us as sinners deserving of His punishment, His love for us took over and God carried out another plan. God chose to send His Son to take the punishment for our sins. Jesus willingly accepted this plan.

Jesus was tortured by beating with a whip with nine sharp tips. A “crown” with two-inch spikes was driven into His head. They then nailed Him to the cross, driving nails into the wooden cross that pierced His hands and feet. Considering all His miracles, these nails could not keep Him on the cross; His love for us did this. Jesus died for us so that we could be forgiven. Of all the religions known to mankind, it is only through Jesus that you will see God trying to reach mankind by paving the way for our relationship with Him. Jesus reveals God's loving heart, responds to our needs, and draws us to Himself. Because of Jesus' death, we can be forgiven, fully accepted by God, and truly loved by Him. God says: “I have loved you with everlasting love, and therefore I have shown favor to you.” 15 That's what God means in action.

The most convincing evidence that Jesus is God is the very carefully studied miracle of Christ - His own resurrection from the dead. Jesus said that three days after His burial, He would rise again. On the third day after His crucifixion, a stone weighing almost two tons located near His tomb was rolled away. 16 The guard, consisting of well-trained Roman soldiers, saw a blinding light and the appearance of an angel. The tomb turned out to be empty, only the robe in which the body of Christ was wrapped during burial remained in it. Legal, historical, and logical analysis of the resurrection of Christ has been conducted for many years. The most likely conclusion is still the resurrection of Jesus from the dead.

If you want to know whether God exists, do a study of the person of Jesus Christ. We are told: “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” 17

Do you want to have a relationship with God and know that you are accepted by Him?

This decision should be yours alone; there can be no coercion here. But if you want to receive God's forgiveness and establish a relationship with Him, you can do it right now if you ask Him to forgive you and come into your life. Jesus said, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock: if anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him.” 18 In case you want to do this but don't know how to put your thought into words, the following lines may help you. “Jesus, thank You for dying for my sins. You know my life, you know that I need forgiveness. I ask you to forgive me right now and come into my life. Thank You for desiring a relationship with me. Amen."

God considers your relationship with Him to be permanent. Jesus Christ said about all who believe in Him: “I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand.” 19

Considering all these facts, a person can conclude that a loving God exists, and our relationship with Him can be intimate and personal. Does God exist? This is a fairly pressing question of all times and peoples. Of course, religion gives only a positive answer to this. If a person is not an atheist, then he believes in the Almighty, regardless of whether he exists or not! Until recently, it was impossible to prove the existence of God using mathematical calculations and physical formulas. The only and indisputable proof of the existence of the Creator was considered to be firm faith in him and knowledge gleaned from the Bible... But first things first.

"Seventh Proof"

Remember how Bulgakov’s heroes - editor Berlioz and poet Bezdomny - in the chapter entitled “The Seventh Proof” (novel “The Master and Margarita”) assured Satan himself (Woland) that neither the devil nor God exists? True, they should be given their due: they did not know who was in front of them. But Woland was not at all moved by this excuse. He did not like these atheistic speeches directed at the Almighty. Woland is evil, but fair! He firmly knows that God exists, and does not accept such speeches that refute such truths! In general, the above-mentioned literary figures were punished - each in their own way: Berlioz had his head cut off by a tram, and Bezdomny became a schizophrenic and, pardon the pun, found his home in... a psychiatric hospital. Let's take your word for it

Whether God exists or not - everyone decides for himself. Statistics say that today almost 90% of the world population believes in the Almighty. The remaining 10% are divided approximately equally into those who believe not so much in the Lord as in the existence of some higher powers, and those who believe only in themselves, calling all talk about the Creator an invention of religious fanatics. Be that as it may, it is impossible to prove with complete certainty whether God exists. In the same way, it cannot be refuted. The Holy Orthodox Book (Bible) says that a person must accept the existence of the Creator as an indisputable fact by his very faith in the Lord, which many people do with great pleasure.

Yes or not?

So, we have found out that the fact of the existence or absence of the Creator cannot be proven from the point of view of the rational logical mind; it can only be accepted on faith. It turns out to be a kind of “axiom”. Now let's talk about something that may soon change some of our religious ideas, pleasantly surprising believers. Science has proven the existence of the Almighty!

Scientific basis for the existence of God

For a long time, pundits did not touch upon this aspect. Since the purpose of science is to study the material world using rational empirical methods, and the Lord is not material, no scientific explanations were given for this. The question “does God exist” was given entirely to religion. However, today it is scientists who take the liberty to unequivocally assert that there is a Creator! How do they prove this?

Proof

They say that the material world was created by an immaterial Lord, which corresponds to the law of conservation of energy (the first law of thermodynamics), which states that energy (matter) does not arise independently, that is, “out of nowhere.” Indeed, at the present time there is no longer any matter other than the existing one. This correlates with the biblical statements that the Creator completed his creation in the first six days. In other words, from that time on God no longer creates new matter. The second law of thermodynamics is clearly seen in the “curse” mentioned in the Bible. The Lord imposed it on the material world.

In the form of a conclusion

It is these reflections that are given as the main argument regarding the existence of the Almighty. This is a logical consequence of two fundamental and scientifically proven laws of thermodynamics, established empirically.
